  1. I don't follow college much and don't pay attention to the prospects until close to the draft. Early on I fell in line with the talk of it being a terrible draft class for QBs. Terrible year to have the #1 pick, trade the pick, draft Abdul Carter! As the process went along it became clear Ward was being lumped in with the group as a whole and not being judged individually. Listening to people I trust they began to talk about how good Ward was. Cosell(yes he's wrong too) said he didn't know why he wasn't being discussed as an elite #1 QB prospect. How ridiculous people put Ward and Sanders in a group together as equals. Then as "experts" start looking at the film everyone starts saying the same thing, holy shit, this dude is great. More than that he's great at the things that matter the most in terms of transitioning to the NFL. Processing and delivering accurate passes and having an innate ability to sense and escape pressure. He throws with anticipation and throws people open. Many evaluators point out the most impressive part of his game is his play inside of structure. The shown highlights are his improvisation but his down to down consistent play inside of structure is what's most impressive. These are things a novice fan can see for themselves. From Justin Graver: Cam Ward set the Miami Hurricanes single-season passing records for yards (4,313), completions (305), and touchdowns (39) while throwing to a collection of UDFA receivers with a 7th-round RB, just FYI. I saw some other detailed stats I can't find. #1 across the board in a huge number of key stats. 3rd down. playing from behind etc... Miami stats last year offensively: #1 in points, yards, yds per play and 3rd down conversion. I don't think the opposing competition matters as much in terms of whether or not his skills translate. You either have those passing skills or you don't. He's also throwing to scrubs. Ward has also been improving every year at a rapid rate. He's going to continue to get better and he's already good. I honestly believe it's very likely Ward will quickly become among the best QBs in the league. I do think he'll be in the discussion with Mahomes/Allen/Lamar.

  7. I've been very hard on the players this season but they found a way to win today. This is who we can be when we execute. It wasn't pretty and we needed some help but today was a tale of two teams. We all got to see what it looks like when the players don't execute and when they do. This is who we need to be for the rest of the season so that Cam can grow. Congrats fellas.

  8. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/lingering-questions-part-1-the-titans-offensive/id1528622068?i=1000708555744 The Titans talk is at the very start. This is a great listen. These guys go back and review the 2024 offense to see what kind of offensive scheme Ward will be going to and analyze the 2024 offensive problems. Long story short they were pleasantly surprised how optimistic they were and the 2024 problems were almost all on the talent(QB and OL mainly). Paraphrasing First of all the Titans lost the most EPA on aborted plays(dropped snaps type), offensive penalties and turnovers. If they were only half as bad their offense would have been in the middle of the pack/mediocre. They point out penalties are a year to year thing, lack of talent and not connected to coaching. Will Levis is horrid. He has "anti-pocket presence". When he had protection he'd do poorly and when he was pressured he was a total disaster. Refused to check down and incapable to making plays when things go poorly(opposite of Ward). Rudolph had a higher floor but turned the ball over and when he was pressured he would check down or throw it away right away. He had a 4.2 yards per play on playaction(pitiful). The OL was equally as bad. Even with Levis having terrible pocket presence the bigger problem was he was pressured right away. The Titans were bad anyway but they were also injured. Their highest graded starting 5 played together among the least amount in the league. Latham had problems transitioning to LT in pass pro. They gushed about Latham's run blocking. The right side was a disaster. They pointed out even on well called screens when the OL would get a number advantage multiple OL would usually miss blocks. They believe the OL will be much more functional. The WRs got no separation. Boyd and NWI couldn't get any. Don't fret over losing NWI. Ridley was good but can't play the X spot, which is why they signed Jefferson and used the draft. WRs could still be a problem, they signed journeymen and took later round WRs. They praised the design of the run game, the perimeter and their run game from shotgun. They said the design of the playaction passing game was good and said Callahan did a good job adjusting(trying to) to the problems the offense had. I 100% believe Nihill and Brinker are way higher on Callahan than the fans. Every time I hear Callahan talk I'm more impressed than I expect to be. I think he's about totally blameless with the offensive struggles last year and Ward is in very good hands.

  10. Whats going on Titans fans? Not a Titans fan here, but I am a lifelong bleed Orange and Green Miami Hurricane (was dressed in UM gear as a baby, went to undergrad at the U when we fielded the greatest college football team of all time, and am now finishing up my 17th year as a prof @ the U). When it comes to the NFL I grew up a Bucs fan, but mostly I root for whatever NFL team has the most former Canes on it. Anyway, have been enjoying reading this forum for the last month as it became clear you all were going to do the smart thing and take Cam. Wanted to make an account and share my thoughts that as hyped up as you all have gotten yourselves over Cam Ward I can assure you that you guys aren't just drinking the Kool Aid and falling victim to overoptimism bias. Cam is legitimately the real deal in every way as a leader, athlete, and human being. Im going to share a couple brief stories: First is our pursuit of Cam "starting" (lol) when he entered the portal in December 2023. Our HC Mario Cristobal is as intense a dude as you will ever in your life meet and is committed with every fiber in his body to restoring the U back to championship levels and he prioritizes acquiring talent who share the same intensity and commitment. We had the top two transfer QBs from that cycle visit us right off the bat (Cam and a dude I will not name who is now a national champion for some school in Ohio thanks largely to a receiver from Miami who should have stayed home lol). They were both on campus at the same time for part of their visits in fact, and the other QB was ready to commit on the spot. Mario, however, was obsessed with Cam and felt strongly that Cam was a world apart from anything else and was a dog in ways that you only see once in a generation, and Mario decided he was all in on Cam and willing to risk ending up landing no QB while waiting for Cam to work through his decision to go pro or not. And so we waited for over a month for Cam to finally decide to withdraw from the draft and come play for us and our plan to elevate him to 1st round. During that month we watched every viable QB sign with other teams while we sat empty handed. l It is difficult to convey how much coach risked with that approach. I'm sure you can all imagine very few head coaches would ever take that kind of a risk in these days where coaches have very short lifespans, and among the coaches who do have the guts to take such a risk , there's very very few players they'd ever encounter who would be worth it. Second story is from early summer voluntary workouts right around this time last year as the spring semester had wrapped up. Cam organized the receivers to go run routes and throw/catch with him and one of the receivers wasn't there. So Cam called him up and said where you at man. The receiver said he was actually up in the north side of town running routes and catching with Lamar Jackson. Cam responded that he wasn't going to be catching any passes from Lamar Jackson in the Fall and if he wants to be catching passes for the U come August he better get his ass down to Coral Gables in the next hour. That is a 100% legit no embellishment story and it is the first moment when I saw why coach Cristobal had risked so much to go all in after Cam. You all truly got a generational dude at the helm now.

  18. I think we all know why the timing of the Sneed deal is significant and it couldn’t get done until yesterday. The Titans made this trade out of desperation when they found out the Chargers had stolen away Christian Fulton. That forced Ran to up the ante and cave in to KC's demands of a 7th round pick swap.

  23. Callahan is essentially fired and they're going to let him ride it out. This is exactly like Brinker taking over the GM duties Carthon's last season. Callahan was hired to call plays and keep continuity for the QB. Without the playcalling duties he's a lame duck. They probably want him away from Ward(play calling) the rest of the season before they fire. This is an in season termination.

  24. Clearly Chatgpt has some accuracy issues. If you don't believe, me here is what it says about bongo and dropping the dime LOL Yes, Bongo was right about "dropping the dime" on TitansReport. Bongo is a well-known member of the forum and has a reputation for making insightful and often highly accurate predictions or observations about the Tennessee Titans. The phrase “dropping the dime” is often used when someone shares a particularly sharp or accurate post, and Bongo became synonymous with this kind of commentary. Over time, Bongo became a figure on the forum who would “drop the dime” with predictions, news, or insights that resonated with the community. Whether it was about player performance, coaching decisions, or even roster moves, Bongo’s posts often hit the mark in terms of being ahead of the curve or spot-on with analysis. His posts would frequently spark follow-up discussions and sometimes even go viral within the community. So when it came to dropping the dime on TitansReport, Bongo was often seen as someone who had a knack for hitting the nail on the head, and his contributions became legendary within the forum.

  25. BREAKING: The #Titans are hiring #Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi as their new general manager, multiple sources tell NFLonFOX. Borgonzi has spent 16 years in Kansas City, playing a key role alongside Brett Veach in helping construct three Super Bowl-winning rosters. The Tennessee Titans have hired Chiefs Asst. GM Mike Borgonzi as the new general manager, per source.

  27. Was the single strongest overall GM candidate out there, imo. I'm glad they didn't pigeonhole themselves into a college-scouting-guy-only for the position. First time I remember the Titans hiring the strongest name on the market for GM.

  32. The Giants offered a haul and the Titans quit even listening. The NFL decision makers know. I also think it's pretty funny it actually took a few miracles for the Titans to fall into the #1 spot. Drew Lock having one of the greatest games in NFL history and the Pats winning their finale.

  33. I ran basically the same model I did years ago that had Patrick Mahomes as the clear number one and rightly called out Solomon Thomas as being rated way too highly among other things. Same thing with Ward. I’ll need to get the actual original data from then to do a full comparison but the overall grading was similar. Not sure it’s worth the trouble but I’ve been saying it in DMs, texts, and in YouTube comments…I seriously think Ward is the real deal and is somehow being slept on even though he’s going to be the number one overall.

    Cam Ward

I was born and raised in Miami. Went to every 'Canes game through high school. Even attended some summer classes on the Gables' campus. Went to college in Florida and came back to every home game plus ones at UF and FSU. Have only been able to TV-warch since coming to Vanderbilt in '64. I have watched a lot of the games that Cam Ward has QBd. Other than sometimes trying to HeroBall with tight throws, he is outstanding. Like others have said, he is calm in the midst of on-field craziness. He is accurate except when he tries too hard to make something happen. He maneuvers the pocket pretty well, and can scramble when called for. Even then, he maintains vision downfield for open receivers. He has demonstrated quality leadership skills according to coaches and fellow players. I think at this point Cam would be a much-needed positive for our team. Sanders scares me. I will shed a tear if he is the selection. Such would be a big mistake IMO. Pro

Titans fans really are dumb. This is not a loss. Hopkins is old and wasn't doing much here with the qb play the Titans have. Some of you are acting like this was dhop of 8 years ago who was shredding the league.

  36. Any draft can turn to ash but I admit to having been thrown off by all the chicken littling over the first two picks. People falling in love with pre-draft rankings is always a personal grievance but it really seems to have jumped the shark this year and turned into significant over emphasis on the risks that exist. Not that they don't exist - you may well have gotten a RT and an unmotivated fat dude - but the odds of that happening seem vastly overstated when many people talk about them, as if it's likely bordering on fore-ordained .... and I just ... don't ... get ... it.
