  1. I gotta say, watching an entire board agree that the line is so bad and has been mis-managed for so long that it warranted the GM being fired, them turn around and say that the RB is "washed up" is unreal. You people never learn from your mistakes do you? 3 weeks ago, y'all were eating crow on Henry, now he sucks again. You guys really are reactionary aren't you?

  2. Hopefully JRob’s wife will get drunk and call in to a local sports talk radio show to air her grievances.

  3. One of the worst traits Robinson had was giving money very early in free agency to offensive linemen that didn’t contribute shit: Jamarco Jones and Kendall Lamm come to mind. Extending Simmons and fixing the Oline are the first two initial priorities for the new GM

  4. This is an idiotic take why would Henry walk away from millions of dollars and retire when he is clearly still driven to continue playing.

  5. By this logic it wouldn't be worth paying anyone that pays a dependent position like RB, WR, TE, etc. Henry got paid because when the conditions are at least acceptable (which there is no excuse for them not to be) he's one of the most dangerous players in the NFL. This offense needed guys who can actually score points. You can feel however you feel about it but at the time he and AJ Brown were the only two guys even capable of doing this for us. He's also not making that much money, it's just a lot for a RB. His contract isn't nearly the problem people make it out to be and not signing him doesn't guarantee we put that money to better use given what J-Rob did with the money we did have.

  6. I'm even more baffled the more I think about this. What happened between 10 months ago when Robinson got an extension to now that led AAS to fire Robinson? Bud Adams would do something like this. Is it a coincidence that it happened after AAS was getting heckled in the owners box as AJ Brown blew up? A lot of the moves people are blasting were already done before Robinson was given an extension. A few weeks ago the team had just won 7 of 8 games. As for the offensive talent. There is a transition but the offense is getting an injection of talent in Burks, Chig and Philips. The right tackle is likely going to be a long term starter. The passing game looked good from the 2nd half of the Broncos game until Burks was injured vs Philly. There is still something we don't know. Or AAS went straight up Bud Adams. This doesn't make sense to say at this point in the season the move was made because of the roster.

  7. Maybe because he knew Quiver Chins was fucking himself and all he had to do is wait for Amy to pull the trigger !

  8. Just my opinion but people are reading too much into that Vrabel quote that was directed firmly at the 2022 playing roster and whether they were willing to fight scratch and claw to get the most out of this season or are they going to go through the motions until the season runs its course.

  9. Burks looks good. He’s flashed big play ability in every game since coming back. In fact, if he doesn’t get knocked out on an illegal hit I think that game is more competitive since we would have had a threat in the passing game.

  10. You need to understand that when there are no holes to run through, no back looks quick to the hole. Henry is having to try to find a hole (that doesn't exist) pretty much every time he gets the ball instead of just hitting the one that should be there immediately. You need to learn how this works. You don't lead the NFL in rushing for half a season and then suddenly forget how to run. You and the others have always make the mistake of attributing OL issues to Henry. It's why half of you sound schizophrenic when discussing Henry. He looks amazing when there is running room and pretty shitty when there isn't. That's it. No big mystery.

  11. I keep thinking about the QB situation and just legitimately can't see another viable option for 2023, other than Tannehill. Tannehill > Jimmy G Tannehill > Daniel Jones I can't see them paying Lamar with how cap strapped we are. Would require too many sacrifices elsewhere. Maybe Geno, but that's somewhat of a risk too. He actually reminds me a bit of Tannehill having his resurgence in TN. I feel like Geno is still in that "is this for real?" stage. Surprsingly to me, Geno isn't that much younger than Tannehill (32 vs 34). So I feel like that one is unlikely too. I think the only way a new QB is starting for the Titans in 2023 is if the new GM and Vrabel agree on a guy they love in the draft and trade the farm to move up for him.

  12. Where the hell has there been a single shred of evidence that Henry is even remotely considering retirement.

  13. Likely would of just delayed the inevitable. The advantage of making the move now is AAS has got 8 weeks till the Senior Bowl when the new GM simply has to be in place, and she has got clear air and a head start on other franchises in running her GM search.

  14. BTW does anyone not think that Robinson is completely devastated in getting fired from his dream job? I guarantee he’s been balling his eyes out since Tuesday. Probably why he has not released a statement yet.

  17. Robinson's self described excuse was that they couldn't fully conduct their process during the covid years. I basically blamed those two years for the drop off in personnel - the thought being that Robinson just couldn't run his old school scouting operation the way that works for him in a virtual environment. But the draft class this year aside from Willis looks much more promising. Seemed like he'd get back on track with higher caliber drafting post-pandemic. What Robinson failed to do this offseason after two consecutive piss poor offseasons was twofold in my mind: retain AJ Brown and build a championship level offensive line (which includes making the mistake of relying on Lewan again - I said this offseason that he should have been traded). One thing that Robinson had that is very rare in the GM world and will be very hard to replicate is this: moving on quickly from clear mistakes. I hope Vrabel and the next Personnel Exec have the same mindset in that regard, because mistakes will be made.

  18. This. We'd have been better off basically not signing any major external free agents ever and just re-signing all our own guys outside of Jonnu Smith who was overpaid in spectacular fashion.

  19. Think there is a nuance between turning on JRob and understanding the decision AAS has made, as I said earlier today I would not have had an issue if JRob had been given another offseason to right some of his missteps. I also think AAS firing a GM that had never had a losing season could set a performance benchmark that could end up being problematic for her in the future.

  20. Seriously? He walks away pissed about the AJ Brown decision then the next day decides to high five Robinson to 'toe the line?'

  21. I don't agree. quite a bit happened since that extension was signed in feb. - The Brown Trade where it appears jrob didn't keep AAS informed and in my opinion, didn't do enough to try to keep Brown - The OL fell apart, Radunz looks like a bust in this system. Needs to be completely rebuilt - Farley injured again and looks like a bust - Woods trade not panning out - lack of depth at CB and ILB

  22. BTW, the biggest mistake from JRob was letting Jonnu go and trading for Julio. It's not the AJ trade. The Falcons had no leverage and were strapped cap wise and Robinson gave up a 2nd and took the whole contract? Ridiculous. Worse that cap space could have been used to keep Jonnu. How about Jonnu over Swaim right now?

  23. Yeah, you lost me at Tannehill. The OL is so bad that you pretty much have to toss like half of your playbook out against good teams. If Burks wasn't such a monster at contested catches we'd have like no deep completions. I don't like Downing; never have but these conditions are ridiculous. This line motherfucking sucks. Sometimes I feel bad that they got J-Rob fired until I remember everyone one these bums is here because of him in the first place .

  25. The team that was on the field in the playoffs last season had just as much if not more talent than the Bengals team that went to the superbowl. This year is a different story, but acting like JRob is the reason we didn't win last year is silly.

  26. I mean, yeah - that's the minimum he should do as far as getting another opportunity. But he should be thanking Strunk and Tennessee fans for paying him 15+ million dollars over the course of two contracts.

  30. No matter what the team is drafting a LT in 2023.

  31. There is certainly an attraction to dumping RT because of the cap savings. However, trying to find a new QB is extremely, extremely risky. The failure rate is high and the effects last for multiple years. Failure could set the team back going into the opening of a new stadim with PSL sales, naming rights, etc on the line. The prudent thing to do is to hold off on new contract negotiations until at least mid-season 2023. Evaluate RT with a hopefully improved supporting cast and evaluate the 2024 QB class. Get Simmons done, rebuild the OL, the WRs and the cap then see where the team is.

  32. I think you can largely look at this 2022 draft class as a success to build on. Injuries aside, it’s easy to see Burks will be a very good player. The real killer for two consecutive years in a row has been a historic number of injuries. Why is that?
    3 points
  33. The timing of it is probably due to the CFB season finishing up and the real scouting season just beginning If they had no faith in him and were going to cut ties after the year anyway then it makes sense

  34. Anyone of: Christian Darrisaw (would’ve solved LTOF or RT) Elijah Moore (which also likely would’ve kept AJB here) Rashod Bateman Joe Tryon (always can use more pass rush) Odafe Oweh Greg Rousseau Greg Newsome II Asante Samuel Jr Eric Stokes Christian Barmore Landon Dickerson Jevon Holland Shoot even one of the RB (Najee Harris/Travis Etienne/Javonte Williams) Literally any of these guys. Due to his dead cap, Farley is almost guaranteed to be on the roster through next year. At this point I am almost to move him to FS and have him learn behind Byard, but all signs point to Farley being a no body.

  35. I think it’s less what moves JRob made in those 10 months and more what does the team look like in the light of day. Terrible OLine, terrible WR corps (not just AJ Brown, but also the Robert Woods trade), Farley looking like yet another bust, etc. All products of bad JRob decisions. Ending last season, even with the playoff loss, the team was looking great and JRob was the guy who put that team together. And now that the roster problems are more glaring, she decided to find someone else to buy the groceries while they still had a chance to win now (?).

  37. Still really is mind boggling hot on the heels of the Wilson disaster that JRob was so reckless taking a guy anyone with half a brain knew was an injury ticking time bomb just waiting to go off. Everyone here has bad takes from time to time (hell my blow it all up post at 2-4 in 2019 is an all time clanger) but I never got why so many here were clamouring for this bum ahead of the 2021 draft.
    3 points
  38. I don't think Robinson understands this because installing Brewer there and not drafting any G at all in the draft wasn't wise. Now that I'm thinking about it, passing on Tyler Smith at 18 seems pretty dumb. You have a "mover" at an OL spot and he can (theoretically) play LT, which would have been nice insurance against Lewan. I like Burks but there wasn't a huge chasm between him and other WR as opposed to Smith and the other remaining OT prospects. Also wasting a 3rd rounder on Willis instead of any other position , you can definitely bitch about that move.
    3 points
  39. The Titans can't run the ball, which is the team identity, against good teams. JRob is responsible for both paying Henry 14M this year and putting a poor OL in front of him. If I'm the owner, I don't need to diagnose the problem and know the cause of the failure. All I need to know is that it's not working and that JRob is responsible for both.

  40. Henry has lost a step, but we're talking about 20 mph instead of 21 mph. I do NOT think RT deserves to use the Oline as an excuse. Neither does Downsing for these putrid play calls. The oline didn't throw into triple coverage last year vs Bengals. The oline didn't run that fucking jetsweep or put Hollister in to block.
