I just don't get pulling so hard for a guy to fail. So I can be right on a GD message board. One thing about him is he tried hard and he didn't give up. Sports show how we could approach life. If you try to do your best, then you should not have remorse. I blew a lot of great opportunities in life because I didn't apply myself. When I said this is what I am going to do and gave it my best, I attained a lot more success. Athletes are people like us. Isiah Wilson could be making top LT money today. He didn't even try.5 points

Very happy for XR. This entire group of young WRs really seem to have their head on straight for a bunch of guys on their early 20's. XR is easy to root for; now let's see if he can take the next step by becoming a contributor.4 points -

He's definitely getting cut. It may be a day, weel, year, or 10 years from now but there will definitely come a day when he's cut.3 points -
I think that’s the distinction between “initial 53” and opening day roster. I can only hope the bottom 10 players are on notice and self-aware that nothing is guaranteed. In fact, with the vested status of veterans — guaranteed contract for the season if they are on the opening day roster — there’s often personnel changes before week 2. I imagine that’s even more likely for bad teams with new GMs.3 points

Rank Order Each Titans Position Group / Better - Worse - Same
ChemEngr79 and 2 others reacted to EC34 for a topic
#1. Defensive Line: Simmons and Franklin-Myers headline. Still concerned with pressure off the edge but this group is certainly BETTER than last season. #2. Wide Receiver: They kept six and all three can contribute. The group is as strong as the Tate hype is real. BETTER than last season. #3. Specialists: Slye, Townsend and Dike. May be the best group on the team. Townsend is a PLUS over Hekker, so BETTER than last season. #4. Offensive Line: It may be paper thin, but a better Latham paired with a solid Schlottman and a surprising Carmona. Just don't let there be any injury at T and the team will be BETTER than last season. #5. Running Backs: Fundamentally ran it back. SAME as last season. #6. Linebackers: Should be much BETTER than last season if only that Saleh knows how to make this group hum. Gray, Williams and Hill might be set for a few years. Barton is better than he will ever be given credit for here. #7. Tight Ends. Chig leaves, Bellinger enters. Might be a better pass blocking group then last season but not much explosiveness. SAME as last year. #8. Secondary: I want to believe Taylor and Flott elevate the DBs and that Winston and Harris are both ready for the significant playing time upgrade. I'd like to believe that Hooker isn't washed and that Robinson and Hallett provide effective depth. The secondary was bad last year. Until proven otherwise, SAME. I have no idea where to put the QBs. Trubisky is a gigantic upgrade, but he's not playing unless Cam is hurt. I'll be the last person off the Cam bus (as I was the Young, Mariota, Locker and Levis busses). I think it's a 3-year process for all but the very best. I have little doubt that the group is BETTER than last season. I just don't know how much better. Coaching Staff: Maybe the biggest reason for optimism. If you don't like Saleh you have Daboll. If you don't like Daboll you have Bradley and Bricillo. And if you don't like those guys, you still have Bones and Stocker. We really won't know until we get through the Giants game what is real and what isn't. I still imagine that 3 or 4 players may churn on the roster - but in truth, no one we pick up is going to be a difference maker. My heart says we are a 10 win team if everything breaks right. Common sense tells me that 6 wins is far more likely. But God help me if I ever go into a season with a 6-win expectation. No one pays me to know ball. I just know fandom. Let's Go Cam. TEN WINS.3 points -

With the plot twist that he actually isn't slow. Forget 40 times, you can see his wheels from the game last night. No one has ever said he was a burner, but he's more than quick and fast enough to create separation and get up the field. He's a good 2 minute offense weapon.3 points -

Counterpoint: with teams playing a ton of 2 deep zone coverage, guys like Restrepo become more useful as teams will be more likely to take quick underneath routes since they are more likely to be open. And if the OLine is a problem, Ward may want to lean on more quick, short throws. It’s honestly one of the reasons why WanDale is more valuable as well. Both are good at getting open underneath.3 points -
No one said he'd get cut A few of us said he was a 4th rounder and not a lock. I even predicted the WRs to make the team before camp and put him on the team. Russ is full of shit It was obvious pretty early in camp he made great strides and was safe3 points

I can see Oliver being needed last year as we didn't have anyone settled as an X. Ayo, Jefferson, and Oliver. And between the three of them they probably had 3/4ths of an X receiver. And Ayo made up about 65% of that 75%. Plus, Callahan had a type. Tate -> Ayomanor Ridley -> Dike Robinson -> Restrepo There's some mighty fine role-equilibrium there. Very clean.3 points -

I have to admit I’m kind’ve intrigued by XR. I was a big BO guy, he was great on ST’s & made plays in the last 2 camps & preseasons. But Restrepo was a legit stud in college. It’s hard to ignore how good he was. He also made a ton of plays downfield, he wasnt just some jitterbug type running 4 yard option routes. And he’s not a 4.8 40 guy, we all watched him dust kids at Miami. He was consistently mocked in the 3rd-4th rd. I think he wasnt a 100% healthy kast year & maybe that worked out for us. You never know how things turn out.3 points

Unless a vet is available that they think is better, he’s in. And I doubt they’d consider dropping him for a guy like Van Jefferson. (unlike at other position groups that may be overstocked)2 points -

is it just me or are the fluff pieces about Restepo making the 53 a little premature? He's clearly a bottom 5 guy and you have to assume he might not make it to opening day. I would have waited a few weeks before writing that piece PK...2 points

I hope XR is a 1000 yard receiver. I don't care how slow he is, as long as he can get open and catch the ball past the sticks, what's to complain about? That's what he seems to do.2 points -

I actually think Ayomanor/Tate is why Restrepo made the team. Oliver no longer had a place on the active game day because the X position was locked down with Tate and Ayo. With Ayomanor elevating to game day active the 6th WR spot didn't matter as much concerning STs because Oliver wouldn't have been active either. That took away the biggest obstacle for Pet-Strepo2 points -
The bulk of the 2022 Giants’ draft is playing ball in Tennessee already, lol …, None were a bigger bust than Neal, who flopped at tackle, butted heads with the fan base, tried to move to guard, didn’t play a snap last season and still re-signed to a minimum contract in free agency for the chance to play for Harbaugh. But the former No. 7 overall pick mostly lined up with the third-team offense during training camp. Kayvon Thibodeaux (first-rounder) and Micah McFadden (fifth-rounder) are the only players remaining from the Giants’ 10-person 2022 draft class. Wan’Dale Robinson, Cor’Dale Flott, Daniel Bellinger and Dane Belton combined for $143 million worth of second contracts with other teams, however. https://nypost.com/2026/08/30/sports/draft-bust-evan-neal-among-giants-roster-cuts/2 points

Its like people forget the progression we saw last year. That why I'm still optimistic with a real OC and staff, he'll be worth the pick. First Half (Weeks 1–9) Completion Rate: 57.6% (170 of 295) Passing Yards: 1,760 yards Touchdowns & Interceptions: 5 touchdowns and 6 interceptions Passer Rating: 72.1 Pocket Issues: Suffered from a league-high pressure-to-sack rate of nearly 29% Second Half (Weeks 10–18) Completion Rate: 62.4% (153 of 245) Passing Yards: 1,409 yards Touchdowns & Interceptions: 10 touchdowns and 1 interception Passer Rating: 90.02 points
