Super interesting approach to free agency. Limited long term commitment. An enhanced roster, particularly upfront on both sides of the ball, capable if not exceptional additions to the LB and S position. Not a ton of ceiling in the signings, but they absolutely elevated the floor while giving themselves more wiggle room in the draft. After Zeitler and Jones signings, its easy to anticipate a more competitive team. Draft looks like the hard needs are down to QB, X, Z, Edge, ILB and a Goal Line/Short Yard RB. Probably the best I have felt about OL and Secondary in 5 years. Skill positions on offense are a dumpster fire and depth is still largely nonexistant. That said, Bringonzi have both plugged holes and maintainined roster flexibility moving forward with only the Moore contract as a possible shit eater. Give the boys their flowers - they executed their vision. If Ward is what they appear to think he is, Titans may finally be heading back in the right direction. QB: RB: Pollard TE: Chig X: Y: Ridley LT: Moore LG: Skro Cushenberry RG: Zeitler RT: Latham Z: Jefferson? DE: Simmons NT: Sweat DE: Day Edge: Jones Edge: ILB: Barton ILB: DB : Sneed FS: Hooker SS: Woods DB: Awuzie N: McReary Brownlee/Brown

35 yo Zeitler another great stop gap example ... they can invest a 5th or 6th in the G for the future. If they are willing to suffer fan apathy, they trade to 3, pick Carter, have solved Oline and Dline challenges. They use the other picks for WRs/Edge/Safeties and run it back with Levis realizing that they are almost a lock for another top 5 pick in 2026. Just goiong to be hard for Ms Amy to tolerate the noise (and 12 season tickets sold).

That's all this offseason free agency period is - with the potential exception of Moore. They told us it wouldn't be sexy. It isn't. They told us we were in a multiple year rebuild. We are. They suggested that the excitement would happen on draft day. It might. I am 0% disappointed and 100% on expected. Are we any better at this moment than we were two weeks ago? If so, only by inches. The next big upset here is if/when we stick and pick at 1. Cam Ward is inevitable - unless the total pick package is exceptional. Either the Giants or Browns will have to be so certain that this is a 1 QB class that they far overpay for the rights to Ward. I don't think they will. I think we stick and pick. I think the site will meltdown.

Titans secure picks #1 and #35 in the 2025 Draft

Oiilly is right. They won't pass on a QB. -
Very late to this thread, but just a few points. I don't think that this move proves the Titans are dysfunctional though it certainly suggests that Amy lacked the courage of her convictions. My read is that Brinker owns the decision, the GM owns the evaluations. Brinker owns the relationship with Adams. The new GM owns the relationship with Callaghan. It might have been cleaner to let Ran go - announce that Brinker assumed his responsibilities - and that a new Asst GM would be hired into the role of scouting and organizational evaluations. Of course, its the Oilers/Titans and getting it right is not something that has happened particularly frequently. I do understand why you would want confidence in the person making the first pick. And if Brinker/Callahan have a good relationship, I understand why the new GM, clearly will limited scope and power, will have no say in the coaching staff. I guess for sanity sake, I will argue that Brinker/Callahan is the husband/wife relationship, while the new GM is ultimately a heavily titled Head of Player Personnel and Scouting Operations.

1. If you imagined that Mike Vrabel was the problem, 2024 said you were wrong. 2. If you imagined that Tannehill was a hot commodity in 2024, you were wrong. 3. If you believed that Rudolph would fix what Levis couldn't, you were wrong. 4. If you thought Ran only 'cooked' in 2024, you were wrong. 5. If you believed that the NFL would not return to being a running league, you were wrong. 6. If you thought Brian Callahan was ready to excel in coaching year one, you were wrong. 7. If you thought the OL and the DL were good to go in 2024, you were wrong. 8. If you thought that CRid, Dhop and TB was a top 5 WR room, you were wrong. 9. If you thought that DHenry was washed, you were wrong. 10. If you thought the team would be competitive in a bad AFC south, you were wrong. As we head into the offseason - it might be smart to be a little less certain of your opinion and a little more open to those whose opinion differs. So here goes ... 1. If you think that the Titans should trade down regardless of their evaluation of the top 2 QBS, you may be proven to be wrong. 2. If you think that the Titans should fire one or the other - Carthon or Callahan - not both, you may be proven to be wrong. 3. If you think that the Titans should invest significant cap room in ANY of the vet QB options from Rodgers to Darnauld, you may be proven to be wrong. 4. If you think that the Titans, after trading down, should not 'waste' a pick on DL or OL, you may be proven to be wrong. 5. If you think that the Titans don't need to clean up the spine of the defense at least as much as they need to clean up the edge, you may be proven to be wrong. 6. If you think that there is zero chance that the Titans give Levis a small chance to win the starting job against whomever they bring in, you may be proven to be wrong. 7. If you think that AAS is the problem, either because she fires the current staff, or that she fired the prior staff, or that she dictated who played QB, or that she is in any way acting emotionally in her decision making, you are just plain wrong. It's going to be a really fun off season. It will provoke landslide disagreements about direction. Public service reminder: we are ALL wrong far more often than we are right.

Here's an ugly truth. Carr. Cousins. D'arnauld. Rogers. Fields. Wilson. Tannehill (lol). Not one of them permanently moves the arrow towards up. Could Sanders? The only 'good' news is that the AFC South is so damn bad that a fortunate offseason could make the Titans relevant even with a marginal QB situation.

A minimum of 11 new starters. That is sick. You might get 2 - 3 in the draft. You might get 2-3 in free agency. And thus, another shit season ahead. A month ago I would have said that talk of changes to coaching staff was absurd. Now, well, if they fired Vrabel, this season is certainly worse than last. But if you fire one, you fire em all. Is the fastest way back to competitive yet another complete tear down?

Virtually nothing to fix.

1. The Levis experiment ended today. Sucks cause he was a low cost, 2nd round QB with a 2 year team investment - now a 2 year sunk cost. 2. Injuries have decimated defense - but - 2 edge rushers, 2 ilb, dl rotational depth and at l east 1 s short of a real unit. 3. JRob was awful beyond desciption - but - Ran pissed a lot of cap space away with very limited ROI. 4. Callaghan is a helluva play caller and the team fights for him - but he too looks far from a finished product. 5. Realistically the offense needs a new QB, RT, X WR, Slot WR. Bottom line, the never ending rebuild seems at least 2 years away - particulary given the QB draft class and spending $35 Million + on Sam D'Arnauld feels like a really bad Tarot card reading. We are where we are. It feels like square one. Maybe even -1, cause who knows if either Ran or Cally are right for their jobs. I just think they both get one more year to prove or disprove their value.

Titans Vs Jags Week 14 Game Day Thread
EC34 replied to NashvilleNinja's topic in Titans and NFL Talk
Missed the normal vitriol in here today. Once again, I see that Levis Derangement System (LDS) is still in full bloom. The 'smarts' around here said: 1. He will never learn to eat a bad play and avoid a big mistake. 5 WEEKS & COUNTING WRONG. 2. He will never demonstrate pocket presence. 2 WEEKS WRONG & COUNTING 3. He will never avoid bad hits that are avoidable. 9 WEEKS WRONG & COUNTING. 4. He can't throw a deep ball despite being a muscle head. 5 WEEKS WRONG & COUNTING. 5. He can't make a play off script after being flushed. 2 WEEKS WRONG & COUNTING. 6. He can't just manage a game. He has to play hero ball. 2 WEEKS WRONG & COUNTING. 7. He is inaccurate. 5 WEEKS WRONG & COUNTING. 8. He can't make a big play when needed to win a game. THAT IS THE CURRENT 'FACT' TO BE DISPROVED. Will wasn't good today. He wasn't bad today. He was meh on a day when the coaching staff asked him to manage and let the running backs eat. He clearly missed Chig in the end zzone. That is one hundred percent on him. He still locks on too long, particularly to Ridley. I feel no more or less convicted in him after today. I see a much improved player. But I don't see the big finish and until I do I will just continue to sit gently on the fence.
