I'm convinced they've known for a while they were going to fire him, but really wanted to hang on until later in the season to avoid the bad look of firing him early in the season after they said they were going to be patient. But the fans are in complete revolt and if you thought it was embarrassing for the organization when boos were reigning down during the Mike Keith ring of honor induction it would have been 100 times worse on Sunday with Vrabel beating the shit out of them. They did Callahan a huge favor by saving him from what would have been an incredibly humiliating experience. I wouldn't be surprised if he asked them to go ahead and get it over with so he wouldn't have to go through it. Stranger Posted October 13, 2025 Report Share Posted October 13, 2025 I'm surprised they decided to make this move so early in the season regardless of how obviously it needed to be done. The team still isn't going to win any significant amount of games and we'll likely be picking top 5, if not 1st overall again, but this was the right move to keep BC's stink off of Ward. I'm glad Amy has the guts to cut the dead weight sooner than later. He wasn't going to magically figure it out and they have to keep Ward's development going in the right direction.
