big2033
Maybe it's too early. But as I understand Lafleur is a Shannahan disciple. Which means zone running. My question for those who may know, what will Derrick Henry do in a predominantly zone-blocking scheme. Can he/will he excel? I'm sure there are examples where he did excel in zone runs this year. Let me know!

Popular Post oldschool
He'll have to get much better at pressing the hole and not bouncing wide at the first glance of trouble. Popular Post Tex in a Can
I'm more interested how the O-line will perform in a zone blocking scheme. Conklin is not overly nimble on his feet at RT, Lewan is athletic and should be fine. Jones, if healthy, has run this scheme before in Houston under Kubiak. It will be interesting to see how well they fit the scheme. Justafan, CreepingDeath, 9 Nines, and 2 others

TerryBoats
I read reports that Gurley struggled prior to this season because he's much better with some space to operate, as opposed to creating yardage in tight spaces. I'm guessing that he'll want to give Henry room to work with. Justafan
AvgJoe
I love this hire. The Shanahan tree has always created excellent and diverse offenses that blend a pass and run game very well. This is going to be fun. Number9, and Come on Titans

Not going to find many better at RT IMO. Our OGs are the main issue but I'm not sure there is a huge issue there. We probably replace one or both anyway. Spain is a keeper and despite looking like a power guy with his size is a pretty good athlete. Kline might be a better fit in a zone scheme to begin with. Conklin is a great RT, zone blocking may not be his best scheme. We will see since it looks like we will switch to zone blocking.
Frank Andbeans
Outside zone is essentially pressing the outside rather than the hole. Not that we should expect Shanahan out of Lafleur, but Shanahan used one cut runners that would set up to the outside and cut upfield. That would be great for Henry as he can find a crease and hit it with power. He has more trouble when he has to slow and adjust his footwork to the blocking at the hole.
