What will Derrick Henry do in LaFleur's Scheme?

Maybe it's too early. But as I understand Lafleur is a Shannahan disciple. Which means zone running.

My question for those who may know, what will Derrick Henry do in a predominantly zone-blocking scheme. Can he/will he excel?

I'm sure there are examples where he did excel in zone runs this year. Let me know!

He'll probably LeFlourish

He'll have to get much better at pressing the hole and not bouncing wide at the first glance of trouble.

Here's what's crazy. Check this ESPN article:

Time for Titans to lean on Derrick Henry, outside zone

Conklin isn't nimble?  Really?  As RTs go he is pretty darn nimble.  Not going to find many better at RT IMO.  Our OGs are the main issue but I'm not sure there is a huge issue there.  We probably replace one or both anyway.  Spain is a keeper and despite looking like a power guy with his size is a pretty good athlete.  Kline might be a better fit in a zone scheme to begin with.

Conklin is a great RT, zone blocking may not be his best scheme. We will see since it looks like we will switch to zone blocking.

Outside zone is essentially pressing the outside rather than the hole.  Not that we should expect Shanahan out of Lafleur, but Shanahan used one cut runners that would set up to the outside and cut upfield. That would be great for Henry as he can find a crease and hit it with power. He has more trouble when he has to slow and adjust his footwork to the blocking at the hole.
