I'll introduce an alternate path where we cut Spears, keep Pollard, and draft Love for the following reasons: A) Love/Pollard is much more enticing than Love/Spears. Spears has averaged 3.9 YPC and 3.7 YPC the past two seasons B) Spears has no trade value, is on an expiring deal, and will likely not be retained after next season. My concerns with him are that he didn't produce as much as he should playing alongside Smith with all the attention he receives. Quite a bit of the love Tate is getting is due to the history of OSU WRs success in the NFL. if the Titans were picking the bottom half of the top 10, Tate is a no brainer. He looks like a worse version of MHJ, who hasn't translated nearly as well as his OSU peers. His highlights are just him beating loose coverage downfield against weak teams who were clearly more focused on Smith. His production against good schools is relatively minor. Jennings has 15 TDs over the last two seasons compared to Ridley's 4 TD. Jennings is also 3 years younger. If they like Dike a lot and see him as a Z WR, then yeah getting an X like Jennings to hold it down for a year while a rookie gets adjusted might make a lot more sense.
