As the process went on it became clear the Titans were not trading the ability to draft a guy they obviously think has a chance to become an elite QB.

I do hope Moon blesses Ward wearing #1. That would be very cool to see in a Titans jersey in non-kicker form

I doubt it and I wouldnt' want to see it. I hope Ward becomes everything that he can be but the moment he is drafted-   he's an NFL Rookie- not a future hall of famer.    I don't like it that we want to crown a kid right after he's drafted.  He'll have to develop and earn his pro accolades.

Looks like 4, 5 and 7 are the only traditional qb numbers available.

23 is open maybe he will go with something weird. Or does the new number rules not let qbs do that?

Are what is available based on the team website.  Again based on traditional QB numbers.  And 8 will probably be available by the end of the weekend

I like #7. Its his own number, "lucky", he's worn it before, kinda looks like a 1.. and there's no real former QB trauma here with that number. Volek, Mett, Gabbert were the only ones to wear it and none were here long enough or played enough to make me hate it.

Mickey Mantle wore #7, so did Ronoldo, Barry Bonds, Elway, Vick (who he said he used to idolize)

I would stay away from #1.  That puts pressure on him that he doesn't need.  Plus, what if he really ended up living up to his draft status.  What are you going to do, re-retire the number?

I'd like to see him take a # that hasn't been worn recently and isn't retired.  The problem is most have been worn.  Of the numbers listed, 4 was worn by Ryan Fitzpatrick, 5 by Kerry Collins and 7 by Zach Mettenberger.  I'd say 7 would make the most sense since he wore it before.
