Titans Trade AJB to Eagles

I give Quiver Chins grief at times but trading AJB for a 1 and a 3 and avoiding the massive contract is fine.  But the issue is not this decision.  It's being right on Burks as the replacement.

Evidently this trade had already been done.  Titans likely wanted to make sure Burks was there.  So Titans got the player they wanted, major cap savings plus an early 4th which is like a late 2nd or 3rd in typically drafts because this one has mid round depth.

 

This trade was New England - Pittsburgh team management.

The only thing I can think is that JRob sees how high the WR market is going and doesn't think it is conducive to a winning formula to pay a WR that much. I can't say I agree or disagree with that, but it does make sense to not spend $25 million a year on one player at a position where you still need two other starters. 

 

AJ was one of JRob's best picks though, and he was a fan favorite. If this doesn't work, JRob's seat may be getting a touch warm for the first time in his tenure. Hope he proves us wrong.

 

Gonna miss AJ a lot though regardless.

If they double dip and go WR at 26, it might be not that bad.  I still expect an OL at 26 though.

I hated it at first because I’m an AJ Brown fan, but I love the Burks pick. 
 

It was a smart move to move on from Brown with that contract. With his mentals, his possible availability for games, his focus drops, etc. he wasn’t worth the $25 million he was wanting with the Titans.

Good receivers aren't needed in the Titans offense.  We just need ones that can block.

I really think this was between paying Simmons and Brown, and while I prefer AJB the way this team is set up - defense and running the ball - Simmons is more valuable, and frankly more durable and more room to grow in this org.
