I was open to listening to offers during the draft b/c I wanted Cam and Carter but there's no way I trade Simmons this year. He's stepped up huge not only on the field but as a leader of the defense.

At that point though you might as well not even have a kicker. Almost every NFL head coach would play it out exactly the same. You're being critical of best practices. Even if Slye misses there, it's the right way to call that. Say we score the TD and then give up a kick return TD and lose? Or we score and get beat on a freak deep ball? Yes, that's unlikely but you still play to take those options off the table. The Cards understood this which is why they were trying to let us score.

Agreed. Was saying the other day as a gadget weapon type guy he has value, i jist dont know how offten you can scheme him the ball.
