Ita crazy how many dont get this. This year means nothing if Ward doesn't develop. If they win while he does that's silver lining.

I was pleased with Cam and the first team offense as a whole. It may be time to find a replacement for Tyjae. He can't seem to stay healthy. The OL was good in pass pro. The run blocking was not great, but that should get better as they gel more with live reps. It was hard to tell anything about the WRs with Cam only playing 2 series. The backup QB play is going to make it hard to evaluate the WR core during the preseason. Restrepo seems like Kinsey's replacement on the practice squad to me. We are set at TE with Chig, Helm, and DMR. 

 

The defense was terrible after the first tampa series. Depth on the DL is straight garbage. I think our Inside LBs will be decent with Barton and Williams, but if Gray has to play we are in trouble. The pass rush was pretty much nonexistent. Femi may develop some through the season and they may decide not to sign a vet to allow that to happen. I would sign a vet like Preston or Zdarius Smith just to give him someone decent to learn from, but they may not see it that way. If Sneed comes back in 2023 form top 4 CBs (Sneed, Brownlee, McCreary, and Baker) will be good. If someone else has to play at CB we are screwed.

 

I would heavily target RB on the waiver wire and look to add a more competent vet backup. On defense I would be scouring rosters for depth at every level of the defense except safety. It seems weird, but after the first preseason game the offense appears to be in much better shape.

Well the top 4 are locked in with Jones, Femi, Key, and Ward for this year.

The biggest unknown on the roster is Sneed.  If he plays well, the Titans have a shot at being a 7 win team or so.

 

If he doesn't, the bottom could easily fall out and another top 5 draft pick. In this league a poor pass rush with below average CBs is a disaster waiting to happen.

If we get a top 5 pick we will be prime to land TJ Edwards, Peter Woods, or Dani Sutton

It doesn't matter how well the secondary plays if the pass rush is non existent.

Interesting that the Titans had Ayomanor playing the Z and Oliver playing the X last night when the 2’s came in (per PFF). 

That is the inverse of their depth chart from last week.

Preseason games have become so meaningless, Ward is really only reason to bother watching at all.     Once Allen came in, I only half-ass paid attention to the rest of the game.

If I were them, I'd sign CJ Beathard with the spot vacated by Orji.

Hopefully the defense looks better when all of the starters are out there, but the depth on DL and OLB is downright brutal. Thankfully Ward has experience dragging crappy defenses to wins.
