Extremely impressed with Ward.

Give him some real weapons and a good OL and Ward is going to be a franchise guy

Hear Me Out ..... Calvin Ridley 3rec / 50yds = 1 drive   now, let's assume the offense has the ball for at least 10 drives/game 30 rec / 500 yards per game quick maths

I'm referring to that very post. But that defense though, is speaking directly about the defense that we saw tonight. Why would anyone interpret that to mean I'm talking about a starting defense that didn't play tonight? You assumed I was projecting forward when I wasn't. Preseason is about evaluation so I evaluate what's in front of me. What will happen when the live bullets start flying is anyone's guess.

Because why else would you mention it?  Who cares how players looked who won't be on the roster?

He was running routes for Boyle. Did Boyle even see anything other than Bucs facemasks? That boy couldn't hit a moon rock if he spiked the ball on the moon.

Boyle has to have way better weapons if we're going to fairly judge him.

I saw some clips, the Bucs put their 3rd string DT in man coverage on ReSloMo

First of all some of those guys will be on the roster. But even if they weren't on what planet is it strange to discuss the performance of players that we just watched play when recapping our thoughts on the game? Please walk me through this because I'm having a hard time understanding why this seems so alien to you.

I think I saw him get on but I don't think he saw a target. He might be done for.

Boyle? Yeah, he's done for.

As for Restrepo? Who the hell knows. He could've been running wide open but we'd never know it because Boyle was too busy throwing incompletions elsewhere, interceptions everywhere, and basically looking like Will Levis having a nightmare.

He's going to be a Witten/Gates type TE imo.

He's got pretty solid physical traits but he has the basketball background that translates to the TE position. He has awesome hands too.

He also has "good jeans"

Witten was my direct comparison after watching his tape. Not the greatest athlete, but a really natural one with excellent spatial awareness and hands.

I didn't understand why you even said it unless you were evaluating the defense as a whole.

Whatever, you made your point, I made mine, let's move on.

He needs a lights out preseason to have a prayer at making the roster and the preseason is now 1/3 over. That's not good for him.

It looks exactly like year one in a rebuild when you had 1-1 in the draft and appear to have found a competent qb in that spot.  There are key starting pieces still missing, much less having any kind of talented depth.

Borgo/Brinker need more time to bring in better more talented players and they’ll continue to get all the time they need if qb1 continues to grow and improve.  It appears the hardest part to get is actually here, so they can now focus improving everywhere else.  Pass rush should rise quickly to the top of the list.
