Pretty clear the NFL/NFL Owners/TV Networks got sick of watching primetime games that had backup QB vs backup QB and they are going to do anything they can to try and protect the QB so we don't have another repeat of the 66 guys who played last season.

If they're going to allow QBs to ground the ball, then they need to allow defenders more latitude to force QBs to the ground w/o calling roughing on even marginal situations; maybe allow booth reviews or challenges. Realize they want to protect QBs but it doesn't need to be a completely slanted playing field; yeah, I know it's highly probable I'm whistling in the dark.

Mahomes still got away with half a dozen groundings in the playoffs this year. The rule doesn’t need adjusting.

The defense has definitely been neutered over the years, but now that we finally have a HC from the offensive side of the ball… yeah, I agree with the NFL, we need to do everything to protect the qb and help the offense…lol

Absolutely. I wish they would create a rule that the QB must designate as mobile or pocket pre-game, and depending on the designation, each will have different rules available. Protecting the QB is fine, but you can't have players hesitating to tackle then have him run for 20. Or hesitate to make a tackle in open field only for him to fake a slide. Faking a slide should be 15 yards and loss of downs.

Catching up on some non combine news Schefter on ESPN NFL Live said his belief is the Dolphins won't be franchise tagging Christian Wilkins.

What’s the reasoning for this?  Also are they going to be signing Tua to an extension?  I’m all for them wasting money on that guy.
