This is a shocking move -- but one thing it confirms is that most posters around here don't have any idea what they are talking about. I said in the game thread that the Eagles were doing a lot of things that flew in the face on TR wisdom, including paying multiple WRs and starting a mobile QB. Today shoots holes in the JRob hype, and certainly the ridiculous idea that his late-round finds made up for his high draft pick and FA busts. And now people think this is a bad look and they should have waited, but AAS doesn't have a track record of being emotional in decisions, so I assume this has been percolating for awhile. Having a great mobile QB changes everything and minimizes our reliance on a star RB. We're a solid team but we weren't going anywhere with how we're built. If they want to bring a guy in for that role, I actually think Tyler Hundley could be a good get. He's looked great in their offense.

I said it was far more plausible that Vrabel's scheme was making the players all look better, as evidenced by how bad all JRob's offensive decisions have been. It's definitely Vrabel coaching up the units and the talent deficiencies. AvgJoe
Popular Post oldschool
I'll leave this here to. Don't assume RT was fixed this offseason. I'm not sure what others watch but I see NPF get beat a lot. Tannehille just gets rid of it before taking the sack. The fact that he couldn't get a first rounder to a second contract is a pretty big waste of draft resources. I don't care that they got one or two good years out of Corey Davis. If you're picking him at 5 and he couldn't get a 2nd contract, it's a pretty big fuckup. There was a recent podcast by some nfl player that had CD on it where he claimed we didn’t even give him an offer just plain let him go without any hesitation. Willing to bet they did the same with Jonnu. Mythos27, Supernope, oldschool, and 2 others

I, myself, ran to a casino to bet on winning the AFC just based on the rumors of his imminent signing. A healthy Julio and AJB was fantastic on paper at the time. I fault JRob on numerous failings (especially Wilson and Farley), but on Julio, he gets a pass from me. It's about what led up to that decision. It didn't work out, but that is a loss on the record of the GM (fair or not). You don't trade a 2nd round pick for a player who played a half a season and then release him seven months later and think it's okay because people were excited when the move happened. rns90
NPT has been awful lately, not to Daley level . But he definitely hasn't played as well as earlier. Also memo to future titan GM candidates: do not fuck up on the OL. It will get you canned. AvgJoe, and begooode

I think Brown 100% wanted to be here and retire here, as he said. Yeah, I'm going back over the things he's said and he was consistent about wanting to stay here. I just thought it was PR battling back n forth and just Brown trying to make himself look good in the situation. Vrabel had no power to keep him here at the time except to make his wishes public. I still think it's bad form if Vrabel pulled a power struggle, but if things had become untenable with JRob, which I guess it had, then moving on was the thing to do. And firing in mid-season isn't exactly unheard of. We did it before with Whisenhunt and no one can argue that was a bad move. That fucker had to geaux. Hey, maybe AJB can find a way to force himself out of Philly and come back. Then we can re-sign Corey Davis and have a trio of AJB, Burks, and Davis next year. Yeah... that can happen, right? That's not even the worst part. I didn't mind the Jones trade just on concept. But Atlanta was cap strapped and somehow Robinson took on the entrie contract and still forked out a high pick. Usually, when you take on the entire contract, you give up less. Total retardation on that. IsntLifeFunny, XAEA12, Jonboy, and 7 others
