In 2-3 years we could absolutely be contenders and he would still be under contract. We would also be much more likely to be contenders if we retained our guys. You don't just sign guys if you are contending

I look at it this way. They still need to improve the OL. The only two spots they can TRULY change are C and RG (unless you move Latham to RG, then it’s C and RT). So yeah, I would say they could move on from Cushenberry if they wanted. The dead cap money isn’t an issue with their cap space. So if there was someone they like at C in free agency, they could easily go in a different direction.
