If Brock Bowers Blows Up the Combine...

Would that change your mind about the value of TE at #7?

Meaning running a 4.4 (or low 4.5), 40 inch vertical, great 10 yard split- Numbers which would be good for a WR.  What exactly would be the argument against him, other than his position?

George Pickens was less productive than Bowers at Georgia on a per game basis- it's not exactly a prolific passing attack.  Yet he's been productive enough to be all American each year, and win the award for the nation's best TE twice .

We'll likely be in the position to draft possibly the best collegiate TE of all time, and potentially one of the best-if not the best- NFL TEs ever.  He's that good IMO.

I tried to talk myself out of it, but I'm all in on Bowers at #7.  If Levis can't throw the ball to him quickly, he deserves to be sacked behind a shitty OL.

NFL econ 101....   If at all possible, draft the expensive positions, sign the cheap ones in free agency.  Not the opposite.

Brock Bowers does not get frostbite. Brock Bowers bites frost   Brock Bowers doesn't do push ups, he pushes the Earth down   Death once had a near-Brock Bowers experience.

@TitansGuru will have to take donations for the space needed for this

If Bowers puts up better numbers than the top WRs he will go higher than this board thinks.  Dude has a lot of production sustained at a big time school. He is not Vernon Davis. He is more like Shockey was coming out.  All around better TE who has no weaknesses.  Personally, I'd have no problems with TN adding him because I think he is a great player.  He just does not fit the roster holes we need filled.

There’s no value in drafting a TE that high, just like there’s not value in drafting a LG that high, so we probably will. We have needs at almost every premium position (OT,WR,CB,Edge and possibly even QB) we should focus on adding talent at premium positions in the top half of the first round. Skoronski may be a good player, stable G but that doesn’t change the trajectory of the franchise one bit. A QB does , and then protecting his blindsides , getting a threat outside, getting an edge rusher that can wreck a game can or a lock down corner to take away the opponents best player can.

Bowers will blow up combine.  I think he is in play for Chargers and Giants to tell you the truth now.  Although I think the Giants are gonna shock people and draft a QB.

How would that be a shock? They've needed a QB ever since they drafted Daniel Jones.
