I am more than concerned about Cam, to be honest. I hope, pray he is "The Man" here. But I have little to think he is. I really think we are drafting another QB 1 next season. Hope I am wrong. I just want us to win.

I get that but you couldn’t watch that game and not be at least a little bit concerned.

I didn't watch but if I had, I wouldn't give two shits about what happened on the field good or bad.

The only concerning thing is him running backwards in a clean pocket TWICE and creating sacks which otherwise never would have happened.  How do you coach such stupidity out of someone?

Yeah I feel like whichever was left of Love/Bailey and then targeting Stribling in the second was probably plan A.
 

They were linked to Stribling and Cam had played with him before.

 Hopefully they open up the passing game.  Tate will shine once they get him going down field, not on short, gay screens.

#4 is high but I can't argue against a guy who will get 15+ touches per game and is a threat to score on any one of them.

 

It feels like unless Singleton breaks out, there will be a lot of yards and plays left on the field.

The team all but admitted Love was plan A. I think it works out better in the long term. Tate is going to be a monster. Love is likely oft-injured with his frame, but he does have Gibbs type speed with McCaffrey's balance.

I agree. Pretty happy with Tate but Love seemed the plan A.

Ward just needs to relax and not rush and push the plays so much. He's looking for the home run way too much or tries to make something out of every play. Some of those throws he just rifled them in there way too fast. It's OK to go to the next down or even punt. 

 

On the TD drive he took some short passes, completed a good screen etc.... 

 

I'm not concerned about him in the least. This stuff comes in time. Things will slow down and he'll see things clearer

Ideally, your QB comes in and hits it off immediately. Some guys struggle early, take a few years to adjust and become good. Some guys never put it together. 

 

At this point he's not looking like option 1. Of course there's still hope he's option 2, and this year will tell a lot. But we - or at least I - have seen it enough times at this point to put blinders or Homer shades on. To see the other teams no name QB come in and appear more competent sucks and it isn't a good look. Guys get drafted for elite traits all the time, but the Kirk Cousins who do the play in play out execution make a lot of money in this league.

 

Someone up the thread said accuracy will never be Cam's strong suit. I hope to God that isn't the case because you can't make it in this league without that. An occasional Mahomes type throw means nothing without play to play accuracy and decisiveness.

 

Steve took time to put it all together and he came out great. Cam reminds me of Steve. Unfortunately there's not that level of patience in this league anymore. I definitely don't want to see him go elsewhere and become another Darnold or Mayfield. What matters is seeing improvement this year.

PSG mean very little.  It is best to see how rookies look.  Right now the development with Carmona, Singleton, and Faulk should be making everyone happy.  The Cam stuff to me is a nothing burger.
