The last two years of OL play for the Titans is my research...although it could be just a 'bad spell in a bad situation' I guess.  But my research and opinion will be mine to own regardless.  No more listening to self-professed experts who claim to know more than their record indicates.

If you’re taking about me, I’ve never once claimed to be an expert. Nice that you projected that level of prestige on to me though.

Eff Vrabel.  If he nails the DC hire (Schwartz), I’m fully on board with the new regime.  Daboll really tipped the scales for me

Brother, if they brought in Schwartz this might the best staff in the league lol

I am looking forward to seeing what they can do next year. I love Daboll as OC.  I love Saleh as DC- defense control.  I am on the fence with Saleh as headcoach.   I think this next year the problems he had with the Jets will not be an issue with Ward and Daboll.  The questions are - how long will Daboll be here?  If its a 1 year rental, that sucks.

I think Borgi did a good job with his targets and getting guys he likes this year.  The team will be much improved next year but he won't be able to get Daboll type hires on a year to year basis.   MAYBE every three years. I dont like that much disruption to our franchise qb but IF Borgi can keep finding guys as good as Daboll then maybe (I'm skeptical that can be done but Borgi has earned some grace to find out).

Even a 2 year rental (most likely) of Daboll would be a let down.  The team needs stability over time imo to succeed.   My contention (and many others) for an offense oriented headcoach is about the long term.. not the very next year.    I think the Titans have been poor strategically from the start. Too reactionary and Too year-to-year focused.  That's not uncommon in sports but it means teams get in their own way more than not.

BUT-  this next year should be a lot more fun and for now we can focus on that.

The long term concerns are real, but my hope is that a pipeline can be developed on staff to take over as OCs move on to HC opportunities. I'm unsure if a plan like that has ever been successful. Ultimately I would hope Cam is cerebral enough to where he is the OC on the field,  but we all know that likely takes more than one or two years in a system.

They have similar approaches to defense. especially the line with per AI:

Key Strategic Differences

Schwartz
✔ Creative front-line pressure without high blitz rates
✔ Aims for negative plays and turnover opportunities
✔ Adjusts coverage schemes to personnel strengths

Saleh
✔ Prioritizes coverage discipline and limiting explosive plays
✔ Uses disguise and zone shells to bait mistakes
✔ Relies on athletic, versatile defenders to execute scheme

So them combined would probably be an even better defense than either alone.

I think when Saleh was hired they emphasised that they want a for-Ward OC-continuation plan in place.  That plan might be Shea Tierney.

Long term concerns are real but the oc but the most important thing is getting off the ground

daboll has a 3 year contract if he leaves after 2 for a HC or after 1 it likely means this offense is probably in a good place with cam and you can plug and play

this is basically a foundation builder

Borgo has to have a guy in house learning Daboll O.  He will be gone next yr.  So if Stocker is the guy great but man this is a huge issue for Cam.  We cannot ask him to keep learning new OC BS.  that is why Manning was so good.  He had one OC his entire time in Indy.  He mastered the offense.
