Dre'Mont Jones traded to the Ravens

Every time Ridley has been positioned as a #1, he's been a disappointment. He needs to be a #2. As others mentioned, his value is at an all time low and we're on the financial hook (trading him for anything would mean we'd eat a lot of his salary).

I think what he offers us as a player is far more value than what we'd get in a trade right now. The goal this offseason should be to slot him into the #2. They need more depth. I don't think you go into next season hoping Ayo and Dike are full-time starters. Let Dike be the starting slot, Ayo as the #4, Ridley as the #2, and find a true #1. We can't have two starting WRs with shaky hands -- they have to bring in someone who can consistently bring the ball in.

I think next season, if the rookies step up more and Ridley looks expendable, then you can entertain a trade.

Odds of us acquiring a #1 WR in FA or the draft are pretty low. Only chance is a second round gem.

The Ravens lost 2 significant players in free agency, Patrick Macaury and Brandon Stephens both signed significant 10-15M per year deals elsewhere, so there is a possibility one of those 2 will net a 4th round comp pick.. the Ravens signed cut or released players not free agents that had contracts run out ( Awuzie for example)

i didnt think those were high enough contracts. regardless, seems like the earlier terms were misreported. i'd bet though, if the ravens do get a comp pick it will revert to that rather than their natural 4th.

here's to hoping the raves sneak in as the worst wildcard and lose week 1.

All you ReStepSlo homers need to read this and see the author and think to yourself if this is where you want to be?

I was actually going to make a joke about how someone should explain to Tolar how slowpoke got passed over 500 times to get called up to the big boy roster .

The ravens incentives still doesn't answer whether the Titans would get the Ravens pick or a 4th round comp pick they might acquire.  In either case, the potential move up isn't that significant but still welcomed.

And assuming the upgrade is the ravens pick and you want the highest possible pick for the Titans, then you would root for them to win enough games to creep into the playoffs and then immediately lose.

The Ravens only have one 4th round pick (their own) and are not scheduled to receive a 4th round comp pick this year so it kind of does answer that question.

I agree. But that has to be the goal. You ideally either want Ayo to step up into the #1, or another rookie. I personally think they need to keep drafting WRs to compete. But I don't think you trade Ridley and then pencil Dike and Ayo as the #1 and #2 to start the year -- that's asking for trouble.

Remember when we got a Top 5 WR and DT in one draft class?  Let's just do that again.

TN isnt going WR in top 5 of this draft which is why I would hold onto Ridley right to see ehat happens in FA.  Dike and Alic need to be fed using Ridley as an expenside decoy to draw coverage from the pups to develop them for expanded roles next yr

I'm not a Restrepo homer; it was sarcastic. At least I don't refer to Derrick Henry as a Tomato Can. J-Rob sucked. Conklin wasn't worth the price. Most of the Trades Up were not. Do I have to list them all? Trades Down instead of Up... Long Live the Revolution! Drafting is a volume game with two key variables: opportunity and proper valuation.

Didn't they remove this restriction a few years ago?

Yes they did but you also can't trade comp picks you don't have yet so teams get around it using conditions such as the lowest pick in that round so once the comp pick are officially awarded in late March they can be traded.
