This is just my thought: I think Kevin Stefanski flips this search on its head. A pairing of Stefanski with Nagy as OC and Schwartz/Morris as DC would be incredible

I don’t think Nagy would go sideways to leave the Chiefs for Titans

Problem is he'd be going from one play calling HC to another (albeit, one who has given up that duty before)

He doesn't have a choice regards the Chiefs they have let his contract lapse and the speculation has been they want to move on from him.

But would Stefanski choose to go where he doesn’t have control of his coaching staff if he has other options? Maybe ones that don’t involve an arranged marriage with Nagy? 
 

I’m not sure. I definitely think Stefanski will be a top 3 candidate, but he’s going to be choosy. 
 

Personally, I prefer Stefanski’s offensive style to Nagy’s. But I think Ward probably would prefer Nagy’s up tempo 3-4 wide style. 
 

It would only be good for the Titans if Stefanski was impressive/compelling enough to force Borgonzi off of Nagy - then you’d have to feel really good about the hire. I refuse to get my hopes up though, I think he goes to Atlanta or NY.

Nagy knows he needs to call plays as an OC to get another HC shot if his boy Borgonzi doesn't hire him.

Many believe that the reason Weaver was a finalist for the Saints job January was because of Ziegler. So, I would think there still might be a chance later on. Unless 1 of their desired candidates (like Stefanski) forces them to make, maybe,  a quicker decision than they were initially planning.

Question for those that like Stefanski.

 

Would you be willing to cut the HC search early if you got a commitment from him? 
 

Worry would be that you wouldn’t have the most exhaustive search, but you would have the coach a lot of teams are calling for.

Does that mean they already interviewed via zoom already? Or are Unhired coaches just allowed to skip that step?

They are not bound by the same hiring process as people currently employed within the NFL.
