Holz and Bill Callahan are true loyalists to Brian Callahan obviously. It would be a catastrophic mistake to keep either of them on staff hoping they'd have Ward's best interest at heart.

I seriously hope they dont keep bill. I dislike him more than brian

And sometimes you miss on a hire, sometimes you miss on 7 HC/GM hires in a row (so far). That's just the way it goes!

I’d count Vrabel as a hit but let’s see here:

Webster

Munchack

Whisenhunt

Robinson

Mularkey

Carthon

Callahan

Yeah, it checks out

If I were McCoy, I'd be pushing for -

Hardegree to OC

McCollum to QBs

Fuchs to OL

Luckily, McCollum is already Asst QBs and a good ascending coach and then there's 3 OL coaches already between Sr / Fuchs / Matt Jones.

Just consolidate the work load. Too many cooks in the kitchen as it is anyway.

This is 100% why they had to do it now.

I'm convinced they've known for a while they were going to fire him, but really wanted to hang on until later in the season to avoid the bad look of firing him early in the season after they said they were going to be patient.

But the fans are in complete revolt and if you thought it was embarrassing for the organization when boos were reigning down during the Mike Keith ring of honor induction it would have been 100 times worse on Sunday with Vrabel beating the shit out of them.

They did Callahan a huge favor by saving him from what would have been an incredibly humiliating experience. I wouldn't be surprised if he asked them to go ahead and get it over with so he wouldn't have to go through it.

He's definitely soft enough to ask for that last part, but yeah the fans were prepared to come up with new and creative ways to go after him on Sunday. If would have been a bloodletting.

Reading about McCoy a little deeper -

Apparently he really does cater schemes to players. For some coaches it is just a mantra (like Brian Callahan), but McCoy apparently is not married to any passing philosophy other than having a strong running game.

That said, his offenses have not always been successful to say the least.

"Oh man -- how do you want me to even start?" asked receiver Demaryius Thomas, who helped torment an undermanned Cowboys secondary with six receptions for 71 yards. "Mike is super aggressive. He knows how to outscheme people, and he's trying to put up as many points as he can. He wants the players to come to him during the game and tell him what we think will work. If we bring it to him and he sees it, he'll try it."

Really says a lot about local media that have been screaming about Callahan getting fired since week 1 and now that they actually have are parroting all the national people about how incompetent the franchise is because of it lol Can we get some like serious people to cover this team?
