Again the titans are not taking anything but QB, and darnold still sucks. Fools gold. No different than when Keenum was lighting it up. You do not pass on QB weather they aren’t graded as first rounders or not. You take a shot it’s a crap shoot regardless

Yes, you do pass on taking a qb with the top pick when they don't have the talent to be good qbs. And these QBs are not it.

And fuck ESPN and the NFLN you pricks can't go to a commercial before the #1 pick.

Let us old-school football guys take a moment appreciate to the fact that the Titans earned the #1 overall pick the old-fashioned way.   Not by tanking or by trading up, but by simply being

I'd hate Hunter. The Titans best position is likely CB and you don't take a WR that high. If the Titans traded down to 3 and Carter went 2 I'd rather trade down again and maybe go for someone like Mem

I assume Minn signs Darnold, so maybe trade with the Giants for their #1 year, draft Travis Hunter, and sign Flacco for a stop gap year. Sign a RT.

I would 100% bet that the the Giants, Raiders, and Jets will all be picking in the top 10 next year. You have to be long term with fixing our problems, and additional top draft picks in a class of Manning and Lauvao would sure help.

But I'd take Flacco in this offense over some of these failed QB veteran gambles.

Jesus with those standards I would hate to see what your wife looks like...

@abenjami what do you want to do with QB? You think Sanders or Ward is the answer? To each his own, but I think that's likely the pathway to being the Browns.

Darnold isn't leaving the Vikings. So who do you want if you don't believe in the two rookie QBs?

I don't know what I would do at this point.  I need to see the combine and pro days first.

But I do know what I would NOT do at this point.  I'm not bringing in a retread veteran like Flacco (or Darnold if available) who would likely lead this team to a middling record short of a super bowl victory and fuck up our 2026 draft capital.

The routes to take are pretty simple IMO.  If you believe Ward, Sanders, or someone else is a franchise guy, then you take him at #1.  Ditto if you believe you can trade the #1 pick for a guy like JJ McCarthy and you believe he's a franchise guy.

Now if none of these guys are a franchise guy in your opinion, then you do what the Bears did.  You trade it for a haul that you can use to trade up in 2026 or 2027 to get the guy you really like.

The hard part is evaluating the players and deciding where and when you pull the trigger.

Yeah, trading for a haul next year was my point. That's why I made the point that those three likely trade partners would all probably have top 10 picks and two premier QBs could be in the draft.

But that ignores the practical question of who is the QB in 2025? You have to sign someone. My argument is that I'd take a cheaper Flacco instead of some less proven failed 1st rounder like Mac Jones or Daniel Jones.

Darnold off the Vikings will look like Cousins on the Falcons. He wont be remotely the same player unless our surrounding cast is of a similar level... and no way we can get a top 3 receiver and that surrounding cast anytime soon.

We are supposed to believe that Darnold overnight turned great? 75% of the league would look great starting at QB there.

It is truly insane the amount of draft capital this team has wasted on bum QB's and OL over the last 4-5 years.

It's shameful. Those who don't learn from past mistakes are doomed to repeat them.

Getting the #1 pick is always a big deal but it's an even bigger deal when the 2 teams right behind you are also in need of a QB.

And the top 4 of 7 with only 2qbs on the board. That drives the price up even in a down qb year.

The simple answer is IF the QB class sucks don't draft one. We've historically had success with veteran free agent QBs as opposed to high draft picks. Locker, VY, Mariota, Levis as opposed to Kerry Collins, Hasselbeck, Tannehill. Trade down a few spots and get some extra picks and solidify the two lines. And FWIW, Darnold looked a lot like Levis against the Lions tonight.

Ill take one of the bridge qbs and dart in the 3rd over sanders or ward at 1. Idc which one really, none of carr, kirk, rodgers inspire confidence but its better than levis or mason and who knows, dart may make some noise.

Give me the giants 2nd 3rd and a 2nd next year(maybe you can get a first)

Nab carter at 3, dart in the 3rd, use your back to back 2nds on a OT and a wr or whatever you want.

Grab a safty, 5tech, or lb with our 2 4th rounders. Its way to early but I think thats a solid game plan you could reasonably pull off.

Id also add a second edge somewhere. We are so devoid of talent there it need it unless we make some splash in fa

Hits all our major holes and lines up well with the talent in the draft.
