The biggest bright spot last night was Sweat's play.    6 tackles, 2 more loss and constantly disrupting the Miami blocking schemes. He did this without Simmons as well. He played 78% of the

Titans HAD to upgrade their Dline. Newton, Fiske, and Jenkins were all guys who played the same role as Simmons. I like those guys but I've told people all offseason that the Titans weren't going to d

As long as they can keep Sweat away from Davenport he's got a chance!

Ya, pics or it didn't happen.  Idk why he wouldn't stick to the we knew there was a DT run about to happen(we kinda started it).

That's a plausible and reasonable explanation. Some asshole to not be named sending you a "man you got us good" text mid draft sounds fishy at best.

I bet GMs text each other like that all the time. It just doesn't mean much. That other GM could've passed on Sweat despite what he texted Ran for some reason or other.

He literally said this last year too. Doesn't mean it's not true but I don't think it means anything.

Yeah it is just a big eyeroll from me with this shit.

No one is buying it Ran. Except maybe Bink apparently.

To bad we don't have a stud on defense, who shoots straight and says whats on his mind, that went through character concerns/media drama during his draft time to mentor the dude.

You know.  A  bruv that will lay it out straight for Sweat, has the career to back his talk, and the personality to buck up to the youngin, if needed, to set a point.

If only he was playing beside someone like that...

The Simmons comparison is a non starter. Unless I missed a lot of shit he made one mistake in highschool. This dude has ?s threw college all the way up till the month of the draft.

I have to say I’m not a fan of their “targeted” approach. I get having confidence in your scouting but to be so confident that you are willing to use a premium pick on someone with major character concerns is silly.

It seems wild to me that they valued him so much that the variance of him still being there a handful of picks later wasn’t worth it to them to add a 3rd/4th round player. I just feel that risk was worth taking for an extra prospect.

What do I know though I’m not GM lol, I just see the numbers.

Throw him in a jiu jitsu/wrestling class a few times a week and he will be ready.  One Nation Jiu-Jitsu is in Murfreesboro and has world class coaches.  Hell, I think Michael Chandler is a co-owner of a gym in Nashville too…I’d imagine those coaches are equally credentialed.  God help anyone he rolls with, lmao.

Not comparing.  Just saying JS had an experience at draft that affected his stock and may use it to establish a relationship.

I also feel Jeff won't put up w/ BS from his linemen like Taylor did w/ Wilson.

Different dynamic w/ leaders on the line

Wasn't Tart playing next to a guy like that? The only person that can straighten a grown man with millions in the bank out is himself.

That’s not clear at all. It’s just what Ran said.

But it is clear that the Titans valued him there and felt he was a need so they didn’t want to risk losing him.

Well, yes. I am choosing to believe Ran in this case. He (or the other GM) certainly could be BSing.
