Vrabel gaining more personnel control is not a good thing - regardless of who the new GM is - I promise you that.

Vrabel's comment "who is he going to throw it to?" about the receivers/Malik is a little more cryptic now.    I loved Jrob, but I love AAS more. She ain't fucking around. Ya love to see it.

Hands down the best thing Robinson ever did was hire Vrabel to be our head coach.

And it’s ironic that move resulted in his own termination.

As the great philosopher Justin Timberlake once said “what go around comes around goes around comes back around”

I too, was concerned about Brown's knee. The trade doesn't look great now but if the dude blows his knee out or missed significant time in the next two seasons that changes a lot.

It always kinda felt like it was his bummed ankle that kept giving him issues, was there a knee problem that I'm not remembering?

the second best deal was demarco murray

Then drafting byard.

Getting Tannehill was a gift he just had to say yes to.

I think about this and things like it a lot. We picked Kevin Dodd 33, Austin Johnson 43, and Derrick Henry 45. While it is obvious we liked him since we drafted him, we quite clearly had no idea just how good he'd be.

A lot of stuff like that happens in the NFL essentially for almost every player not drafted in the top 20 or so picks. The Ravens picked Hayden Hurst before Lamar and Mark Andrews. The Eagles, Reagor before Hurts. Any player that drops outside of the top 20 could essentially be had by any team relatively cheaply (trade options are fairly consistently available and the price rarely gets too high (relatively) after this point).

It's a good reminder of how much of a crapshoot it can be even in a league of 32 teams filled with staffs of full-time scouts and player development personnel all with degrees more experience than any of us.

That would be unusual, but AAS likes Vrabel, and she has seen first hand the team dissolve in front of her eyes. I would think that there would be a specialist of some kind with a good reputation helping make those decisions. Vrabel can't spend hours evaluating people. Some guy will show him 3 names at a position need, and let him have a say.

Not unusual at all several teams currently use this model where there is a full personnel staff operating underneath a head coach that has final say on the roster (Patriots, 49ers) also Sean Payton had a lot clout at the Saints as well, there was obviously the Bill O'Brien disaster at the Texans.

ENORMOUS draft and cash capital spent on Oline. Just a horrendous amount for the product on the field.

For what he spent, it should be hands down top 5 in the league. But it's bottom 5.

He could survive Isaiah Wilson, but to misss to the extent they did on Radunz after giving him tons of time and coaching coupled with losing Lewan just magnified how terrible the tackle depth was/is when they've spent multiple high picks on it since Robinson was here.

I think the issue is they didn't try to get him back at all. Seems like he would have taken less than he got with the Jets to stay, which may have been worth it depending on the details.

The ultimate irony of it was they probably thought they were reserving the WR money in order to re-sign AJB; and then blew a huge chunk of cash on Julio.

Not picking an IOL this year didn't help.  That may bite us next year.

It is really simple.

The talent on offense outside of 22 and 17 is among the worst in the league.

The worst.

The GM of a contending team does not allow that to occur.

This team is running on fumes and Meathead won the power struggle and should have. Jrob was vastly over-rated and hamstrung this roster with his asinine picks on offense.

It will be interesting to see how much power MV gets with the new GM.

I hope the Titans hire a real GM not a Vrabel yes man.
