Popular Post code
1. One of my favorite sports phrases is "you don't have to be the man, be a man, and do your job". That was my headline for today's game. Marcus did the only job a QB can do in those weather conditions, he protected the ball. Peyton's lil' bro turned it over twice. In my view, that was the difference in the game. 2. Can not give enough credit to the offensive and defensive lines. This was a game that had to be won upfront. The work that the Oline did, without Conklin and Walker was spectacular. Equally true was the work the front seven did on the defensive side of the ball. Saquon Barkley is on his way to becoming the best back in the NFL. Amazing job to hold him in check. Can't say enough about Evans and Brown. Disappointed to lose Finch. Those three look to be part of our long term future. 3. Losing Finch is unfortunate. Losing Ryan is close to devastating. Fortunately Malcolm Butler seems to have regained his form, while Leshaun Sims is more than capable. But Ryan has been our most reliable secondary member this side of Kevin Byard. We can beat Washington without him. The Colts are a very different story. 4. Vrabel has done an incredible job of preparing the guys to win. We are the least penalized team in the league. He clearly put ball protection on the top of the list this week and it paid off with the win. Dean Peas did a remarkable job scheming for Bailey. The NFL really doesn't get how good Brown is in pass coverage on backs. Peas uses all the various parts incredibly well. 5. I don't know what clicked for Derrick Henry. Maybe he was just pissed. Maybe he realized that he has a freakish combo. of speed and power and it might be a good idea to use both. Whatever it is, we lose that game today without his performance. Honestly, I no more saw this coming than any of the rest of you. Beating Washington with Johnson at QB is certainly doable. Jags defense didn't shut him down. He is better than our fanbase will credit him, but can not be allowed to beat us in a playoff run. Once again this team has sucked me back in to believing that its possible. Hopefully we play the Colts at 9-6 and we finally find a way to beat Luck. The good news is, win out and we are now in. All we have to do is play the games. Former_Fan
On Henry, we likely lose our last two games without him. He has been the difference maker and this team has been desperate for a player to put the team on his back. Last 2 weeks the game plan was excellent and executed well. We are going to have to start passing the ball more going forward to continue having success in the running game though. Defense has been lights out last two games, so these injuries are coming at a bad time with the season on the line.

The conditions were terrible for both QBs and the plan was clearly to wear the Giants down with Henry and they did just that. Mariota did make 2 big 3rd and long throws in the first TD drive. Yes you are, you watched the game. He was skiddish and indecisive in the pocket, he threw a couple of terrible passes over Davis's head that had nothing to do with the weather, he threw underneath to Henry when Davis was open downfield and he missed another open target(forget who). He looked like a scrub out there. I listened to a national radio NFL show on the way to eat tonight and they were talking about Henry and one of the guys said he watched the game and pointed out that Marcus looked terrible. I'm not interested in arguing about it, it is what it is. TitanJoe, Callidus, 1yardshort, and 11 others 3 2 8

Not even playing this game with you, he was on target and was let down by 2 early drops when they were actually trying to throw the ball after that it was the Henry show. I get it that you feel the need to win something in here right now but this isn't the game to do it. I almost laughed at that Davis overthrow, a basic easy throw that he missed. Edited December 17, 2018 by rns90 earlers
