This must be after LenDale lost the weight and was running on fumes. Beforehand everyone was wondering if he had illicit pics of Fisher’s mistress or something, with all the shit he was getting away with

Victory laps over initial 53's seems like a strategy doomed to fail.  Restrepo may not be #53 on the roster but he's probably somewhere between 49-53.

 

You'd have to think the 6th WR, 10th OL, 10th DL, 4th TE, and 5th CB are all potentially at risk for being replaced by waiver claims.

I'll never say never on anything. But you were dead certain he would never be on the 53. They could cut him in the next 30 mins and you would still have to carry that L. Hell, you got winged by an L last year when that incompetent ass Callahan crew was forced to elevate him due to injury issues. Where are they all now? Gone like a prom queen's virginity. And where's Restrepo? On the 53, "possibly" from day 1, if ya can believe it.

 

As far as the LenDale thing goes? I don't remember particulars of those discussions but looking back at his stats he'd just come off a career worst season. Less production than even his rookie year. Pretty obvious the guy had outlived his usefulness. Not quite the same thing as a guy on an ascension.

If Robinson goes down they ain't playing PetStrepo. They'd play Ayo and Dike and the gap after that is huge. Celebrating him making the roster and actually wanting him getting meaningful snaps is totally different. The 6th WR and PS aren't much different. In fact it's not totally out of the question if they make enough roster moves he's safe. 

Counterpoint: with teams playing a ton of 2 deep zone coverage, guys like Restrepo become more useful as teams will be more likely to take quick underneath routes since they are more likely to be open. And if the OLine is a problem, Ward may want to lean on more quick, short throws.
 

It’s honestly one of the reasons why WanDale is more valuable as well. Both are good at getting open underneath.

All good points, Apparently XR shows up at 5 am every day, works his butt off to get better,studies his playbook,  and plays the slot a lot like Robinson. And Ward is comfortable with him and he catches everything so far... and while he’s not a gunner, he’s willingly played on coverage teams.. I think it will be difficult to find someone on the waiver wire that fits better. I think Batey will be on the ps btw

I hope XR is a 1000 yard receiver.  I don't care how slow he is, as long as he can get open and catch the ball past the sticks, what's to complain about?  That's what he seems to do.

Not a single person said he was likely to get cut. Not being a lock is entirely different than saying he was a goner.
