Think like Akeem Ayers when we use to run him out as a LB instead of as a DE. Potentially but then that brings up another host of problems like who's your weak side edge? He's dropping in coverage more as well which isn't really what he's great at. Unless you're playing more of an attacking blitz scheme which Saleh isn't really know for iirc. CAN he? Sure but do you want to draft someone at 4 and play him like that or do you just take someone else at 4 (or trade back) and take someone later who fits the scheme more? It is admittedly an option I wasn't considering but that does pose problems too. Edited March 11 by reo

There's gonna be edge players that's not much worse at the top of the second That's where I'm at. Maybe Bain bc he's got the size but even hes more of a strong side edge imo and we have those. headhunter

Yeah with JJ, Femi and even JFM they can play strong side. So don't really see Bain as a necessity. Callidus, and reo

The character stuff... idk. The charges were dropped for numerous reasons. I assume the Titans would do their own research into QJ but I agree on the surfacs it doesn't fit in with the MO for their stated build plan. Although, what he said (paraphrased) was more about not having a foundation in place to support colorful characters. But Saleh and the coaches they've hired could have gone a long way toward laying down said foundation. I don't recall anyone saying anything about Judkins being a character concern before that alleged incident. There was chatter from the Ole Miss side about hia supposedly being a locker room problem and other similar accusations, but that was likely sour grapes on Ol Miss' part. At the end of the day, I did say it was a "crazy". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Supernope

Teams dont always use those visits to judge if they should draft a guy, alot of the time its to judge if they shouldn't. Tate is as good as it gets character wise on and off the field, same with his football IQ and schooling. There isn't much to question with him outside if you like his tape or not. He couldn't be a SAM in a traditional 43 but if they played a sort of hybrid he could potentially move over and play the SAM. I don't know if Saleh does that though. McDonald under Saleh which is our primary comparison was more of a situational pass rusher his rookie year. https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/archive/281/NYJ
SleepingTitan
What if they converted Femi back to LB as the SAM and took him off the field when the nickel comes in and/or put his hand in the dirt on the line?
