It is interesting to note that we didn't even meet with Tate at the combine. Borgonzi stressed in some of the combine interviews how important each touch point with these prospects was. So for them to have not a formal meeting with Tate at the combine is something. We have no idea if they met with Tate at the combine

I don't know what to tell you. He doesn’t have to be a “situational pass rusher”. He can be a starting LB who plays edge on passing downs.

Lol you're going to play Reese or Bailey as your WLB instead of Gray?? You're kidding, right? Yeah, let's draft and edge guy AT 4 and make him drop in coverage. The fuck are we talking about?? Just draft someone who fits the goddamn scheme at 4 and get someone else later. That's how you get fired. Edited March 11 by reo

He’s considered to be capable of playing both LB and edge. I’m not saying they are going to draft Reese. But based on history Saleh appears willing to draft a guy that size to play in his defense. Also, Will McDonald has 18.5 sacks over the last 2 years for the Jets, so it’s hard to say he doesn’t fit the D because he’s too small. If Reese played a hybrid position and could put up 10 sacks a year then he’s worth the #4 pick… titanskick8851, and rns90

IsntLifeFunny
If you think Reese is a Micah Parsons clone then you absolutely draft him at 4 and make the fit work lol. rns90, titanskick8851, and Lantern

TeamRamrod
Also I’ve seen Reese stick pulling guards in the A gap lol I’m not worried about him being able to set an edge on first downs a handful of times a game SleepingTitan, and titanskick8851

They are not similar. Drafting someone who doesnt fit your scheme is how you draft busts. He can be a star in the NFL is you play him in the right scheme. He would be a situational pass rusher here. 2 minutes ago, Starkiller said: I’m not saying they are going to draft Reese. Oh yeah #2 over all. And theyre switching to a 34. Bc McDonald is a good pass rusher but is more of a 34 OLB so they're switching to a scheme that fits him better. And it’s laughable to suggest the Jets are changing their entire D to fit Will McDonald. But that’s beside the point, which is that he did fit Saleh’s defense so Reese is absolutely an option in our new scheme…

And yeah he’s an option if he falls to 4 . Don’t think he will but there’s no way a defensive guy like Saleh who’s flexible won’t find a way to use him and max out his potential. Then their run defense sucked ass last year so they're switching back to a 34. If you choose not to believe that OBVIOUS correlation... again... I don't know what to tell you, man. Its almost like... he's a good pass rusher but is too small to set the edge effectively in a 43. Kinda like exactly what I'm saying will happen here. But sure.. draft a 240 DE as either a situational pass rusher or see us get run all over. You showed a PERFECT example of exactly what I'm talking about.
