I don’t think there’s a huge gap between Ward & Sanders, but Ward’s upside is a lot more enticing. Based on his arm talent, mobility, & instincts, I can at least see a realistic path towards him being a top-10 QB. With that being said, I would be very hesitant to spend a top-5 pick on him. If you’re taking an older, undersized QB with significant accuracy, decision-making, & pocket presence concerns at the top of the 1st round, you’re banking on a lot of things going right to return value on that pick. Based on his natural talent + his improvement from ’23 to ’24 there’s reason for optimism that he could take another jump. He’s still a top 16 player for me & it wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up being a good QB, but I see a very wide range of outcomes & I wouldn’t take him over a blue-chip player like Abdul Carter/Travis Hunter. https://x.com/NoFlagsFilm/status/1878073719379075499 Def a big gap between sanders and ward

I really liked him coming into this season. Not sure what happened to him but he's been outplayed by most of his fellow receivers.

Every team that drafted a guy from your list thought they were drafting a franchise guy. I don't know where people get this magical thinking where a team thinking they're dressing a franchise guy means a damn thing.

Ward won't cost extra draft capital and could even potentially get us draft capital if the Browns were to be more enamored with Sanders. I’ve watched every game he played at Miami and I can tell you without him, that team doesn’t sniff 7 wins. He did this with minimal weapons, Restrepo is a slot guy and Miami did not have a deep threat guy at all. He is an elite processor that can alter his arm angle to make all the throws. Calm in the pocket and an alpha male personality with a strong work ethic. He is the type that if he makes a bad throw, he is going to say fuck it and get right back to the game. Very strong mentally. I have posted before, I had a “meh” reaction when Miami got him. Had no clue he would be this special The question isn't necessarily just Ward versus McCarthy. It could look something like Ward or McCarthy + Carter/Hunter. Say we trade with NY and pick up whatever then trade our 2nd and say 5th for McCarthy. We are least sitting even in draft capital from the 2 trades but now have Abdul Carter on the edge. I'm not banging the table for any particular option, because as of right now there are a shit ton of scenarios with how this has all unfolded. This would also mean we would have to agree to a trade before really even getting to sit down with Ward/Sheduer. The trade offer would have to be ridiculous to even consider. Only other option would be to take a page out of the Manning book and have him get drafted and refuse to sign and force a team into a trade. Once Deion takes the job they lose all leverage. I would expect a lot of click bait with this storyline with Deion over the next few weeks. NYG is going to do whatever they can to land Ward or Shedeur. The entire thing is setting up ridiculously nice for the Titans. Add the Browns into the mix and between those 3 teams we will get a major offer to move off 1st. Sure, it’s one less first, but we’d be getting a higher pick this year (to go from 12 to 6 would probably cost a future 1), a 2 and a guy who was a second rounder last year. Not sure how this offer is laughable. You all are in for a rude awakening if you think you’re getting more than that. titanskick8851

We need a QB No doubt they are going to do all the HW on the QBs. If they trade down it’s them saying these guys are not it. Both QBs have their warts but if they draft one of them at #1 overall you can pretty much guarantee they believe they can be really good. My main reason to believe they could pass is because of the philosophy that Brinker mentioned about being built through the draft. This is their Stafford or Watson to trade to gain valuable top level draft capital that helped turn the Lions and Texans around. Add in that Callahan is already on the hot seat, you wouldn’t necessarily want to saddle a potential new HC in 2026 with a QB they did not draft and that the 2026 draft will be a lot deeper of a QB draft. Building through the draft is taking the 1st round graded QB when he is available. Drafting the QB is the way teams with franchise QBs get their franchise QB legitimately 95% of the time AvgJoe
