Julio can still play unlike Woods or the other stiffs we brought in.  He just should have never been traded for those high draft picks since we were also PICKING UP THE ENTIRE CONTRACT as well.  Can't blame Vrabel for that fuckup.

Bruh our offense sucked last year wtf are you talking about. Julio did nothing and all the other wrs had injury issues. The only ones who could stay on the field were NWI and Chester Rogers.

I guarantee our oline performance gets infinitely better if Brady were to come here. Tampa went from giving up 47 sacks behind Jameis Winston to giving up 21 a year later.

 

I doubt they miraculously made every possible correct move to have such a drastic improvement. QB matters to oline performance.

Lets be honest here, the Defense this year has been propped up due to playing lots of bad QBs. The DL is good but LB play has been bad aside from Long and CB is a trainwreck outside of Fulton. The Titans CBs can't really compete against top flight Passing offenses if the pass rush doesn't get home right away. This roster has a lot of holes and not just on offense.

We lowballed Corey Davis (go look at his interview from this year on this, he wanted to be here, and any idea that he'd come will change once you see that interview).

 

We clearly have no plan to replace Davis so we trade for Julio Jones using a valuable 2nd round pick. To be fair, a popular move-- so I won't hold this against JRob because we clearly were in a championship window so you have to take chances. The problem is this was not a plan, it was a target of opportunity and out of desperation we gave up valuable draft capitol. 

 

Then we release Jones the very next offseason. We then trade another pick for another injured receiver to make up for it. And then we make an annoying leak a gaping hole by trading away a top 10 receiver and probably best receiver in team history for no reason other than the fact he wanted market value for his new contract.

 

You guys notice the trend. He made problems and didn't fix them.

I think he wants the Eagles offense. My guess is that he wants a mobile QB to match with a dominant defense. 

 

This is a shocking move -- but one thing it confirms is that most posters around here don't have any idea what they are talking about. I said in the game thread that the Eagles were doing a lot of things that flew in the face on TR wisdom, including paying multiple WRs and starting a mobile QB. Today shoots holes in the JRob hype, and certainly the ridiculous idea that his late-round finds made up for his high draft pick and FA busts.

 

And now people think this is a bad look and they should have waited, but AAS doesn't have a track record of being emotional in decisions, so I assume this has been percolating for awhile.

J Rob was a very good GM. He had the balls to fire Mularkey after winning a playoff game, then brings in a future COTY. Tannehill Trade. Mixed bag in the draft but not enough to outweigh the good. This years class looks amazing and Burks is clearly the real deal. AJ is worth 25 mil a year when he plays but his mental and physical health are questionable, very possible Titans look like the winners in a couple years.

Yeah - seems to be that Brown really did want to be here and Robinson probably really did lowball him and fuck up the situation.

It's okay to say that JRob is a pretty good GM but not a great one. He made some good moves early on, made a lot of shitty ones later on. There's a lot of grey here. Some people are better at rebuilding broken things, some people are better at optimizing things that already work pretty well. It's the same reason that successful startup founders are almost never good CEOs of the same company at scale. It takes a different skillset.

Also, I mentioned last week that people should stop assuming JRob is killing it with all his trash heap finds on defense. I said it was far more plausible that Vrabel's scheme was making the players all look better, as evidenced by how bad all JRob's offensive decisions have been.

 

I think today is strong evidence that JRob has done a worse job on the backend too, and people have been giving him too much credit.
