This was my take on it as well. He knew his board and signed values. He didn't panic trade up to fill a spot where they just missed out on their top target. He wasn't trying to trade for the sake of it. Now, whether or not his valuation and board is accurate that's TBD. Never crossed my mind that he made a desperation trade for PR purposes or because he flippantly desired to do so. He still got a desired prospect that fits the team needs at a spot that is well aligned with his current skills and potential development.

I hope edge isn't even close to tied, even if you can never have enough rushers. There's a 1st, a 2nd, and 26 y.o. former pro bowler, a 30 y.o. current pro bowler, and a vet with 6 sacks last year at edge today. Let's get real (not at you), these things have to happen for the American experiment to continue. I think most sane folks are still in, "Oh shucks, we really need a new Admin." mode. There needs to be reversals of damn near everything that's been done and will be done while building back a modicum of respect on a global level. Nearly impossible to do under current circumstances. This is, in no small part, why I moved up north after thinking me and my wife would be Nashville residents for life. Sure the income taxes and property taxes suck because they hit immediately, but I built and ran multiple financial models trying to disoriented that it's still cheaper in Nashville. After the sales and grocery tax, inflated housing prices, shit schools/ expensive non-evangelical private schools cost to easier and better healthcare, disability/unemployment funds, public transportation, parks and public works, very solid education system etc., etc. It always came back to being cheaper even if the upfront costs were tough at first. Also, it's currently 60 degrees here, and I've have only had to run the AC one so far this year. January and February so suck, though. Trade of for the other 10 months. People see the tax bill up here, but don't put any value on the intangibles. Only if you're in the top 2-3% and/or have no children, Nashville doesn't make sense for those that didn't already have cheap real estate there.

Will never pass, but it'll be on the record as trying. Nothing he said is incorrect, though.
