That's the most maddening aspect of the start. Everyone expected it... 1-2 or even 0-3. Not only did the Titans fall short of even that expectation, they've fallen far short of it. You've even got some in here trying to compare this era of the Titans to the 2013-2015 era. -

Ok, fair enough, but the chart isn't totally irrelevant. The point to me is that Callahan has called plenty of "easy plays" and the offense just hasn't been able to execute. Which ultimately is also his fault, and shouldn't he know what the team is good at and not good at from offseason/preseason work?

I was wearing a bad religion shirt in taco bell once on my lunch break and an asian kid in florida came over and tried to convert me to Christianity. Idk why that made me think of that story but i thought it was funny enough to share. -
https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/09/25/hegseth-generals-quantico-meeting/ Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered hundreds of the U.S. military’s generals and admirals to gather on short notice — and without a stated reason — at a Marine Corps base in Virginia next week, sowing confusion and alarm after the Trump administration’s firing of numerous senior leaders this year. The highly unusual directive was sent to virtually all of the military’s top commanders worldwide, according to more than a dozen people familiar with the matter. The directive was issued earlier this week, as a government shutdown looms, and months after Hegseth’s team at the Pentagon announced plans to undertake a sweeping consolidation of top military commands. In a statement Thursday, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell affirmed that Hegseth “will be addressing his senior military leaders early next week,” but he offered no additional details. Parnell, a senior adviser to the defense secretary, voiced no concerns about The Washington Post reporting on the meeting, scheduled for Tuesday in Quantico, Virginia. There are about 800 generals and admirals spread across the United States and dozens of other countries and time zones. Hegseth’s order, people familiar with the matter said, applies to all senior officers with the rank of brigadier general or above, or their Navy equivalent, serving in command positions and their top enlisted advisers. Typically, these officers each oversee hundreds or thousands of rank-and-file troops. Top commanders in conflict zones and senior military leaders stationed throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region are among those expected to attend Hegseth’s meeting, said people familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to publicly discuss the issue. The order does not apply to top military officers who hold staff positions. None of the people who spoke with The Post could recall a defense secretary ever ordering so many of the military’s generals and admirals to assemble like this. Several said it raised security concerns. “People are very concerned. They have no idea what it means,” one person said. Two others expressed frustration that even many commanders stationed overseas will be required to attend. One said, this is “not how this is done.” “You don’t call GOFOs leading their people and the global force into an auditorium outside D.C. and not tell them why/what the topic or agenda is,” this person said, using an abbreviation for general officer or flag officer. “Are we taking every general and flag officer out of the Pacific right now?” one U.S. official said. “All of it is weird.” The orders come as Hegseth has unilaterally directed massive recent changes at the Pentagon — including directing that the number of general officers be reduced by 20 percent, firing senior leaders without cause and a high-profile new order to rebrand the Defense Department as the Department of War. Top administration officials also have preparing a new national defense strategy that is expected to make homeland defense the nation’s top concern, after several years of China being identified as the top national security risk to the United States. Some officials familiar with the order to travel said they thought that may come up. Hegseth’s directive in May to slash about 100 generals and admirals also has generated concern among top military leaders. He called then for a “minimum” 20 percent cut to the number of four-star officers — the military’s top rank — on active duty and a corresponding number of generals in the National Guard. There also will be another 10 percent reduction, at least, to the total number of generals and admirals across the force. Last month Hegseth fired Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency; Vice Adm. Nancy Lacore, the chief of the Navy Reserve; and Rear Adm. Milton Sands, a Navy SEAL officer who oversaw Naval Special Warfare Command. No specific reason was given in either case. The firings were the latest in a wider purge of national security agencies’ top ranks. Since entering office, the Trump administration also has fired the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr.; the chief of naval operations, Adm. Lisa Franchetti; the commandant of the Coast Guard, Adm. Linda Fagan; and the Air Force vice chief of staff, Gen. James Slife among others. The list includes a disproportionate number of women. Gen. David Allvin, the chief of staff of the Air Force, announced last month he will step down in November, after he was asked to retire.

Spot on. They can’t even get lined up correctly. Too many penalties. This speaks to coaching. Get the little things right first! -

Top to bottom I think they're the best roster in the NFL. It was the Eagles last year but they lost 8 starters on defense and are not as dominant. -

Tampa really is stacked. They’re completely decimated by injuries & still have a solid team. Basically their entire OL is injured including Tristan Wirfs. Chris Godwin is hurt. Mike Evans got hurt during the game. I believe Lavonte David got hurt. Calijah Kancey is hurt. They have a half dozen elite guys not playing & they still dominated the Jets who I get are bad. It was a close game score wise but TB dominated them. The Jets blocked a FG for a score after a sortve garbage time TD they had. Also Emeka Egbuka is gonna be a superstar. The stuff about him being a slot only was totally off. Dude was making one handed grabs down the sideline, beating Sauce a few times. Total stud. And Baker is a monster. -

That's what I'm saying. I don't care about the record. I care about the coaching, which has been horrible regardless of the level of talent. -

yup and like I said, I expected 0-3 or 1-2 at best when the schedule came out. I hoped they would steal one against an overrated Broncos team or get Richardson and the colts. Once Jones was named the starter, I knew the Cotls would be a way tougher out as they have a much more balanced roster than the Titans. -

I can't speak for most fans, but I don't think many people here had any illusions of winning many games. What we didn't expect is for the HC/OC not to know what a legal catch is...or call a 3rd down play at the end of the half with no clue what he wanted to do on 4th down, cause a delay of game penalty because he couldn't decide what the fuck to do after 2 full timeouts. That's what I think most fans are pissed off about. They're not pissed off that the team sucks. They're pissed off that the coach sucks. -

I imagine most of us expected more than pure and unadulterated incompetency lol, but yeah we were going to suck no matter what. Progress is all we can ask for. Hopefully the OL gels and the rookies cement themselves. -

They really are. Great OL, Drake London is tremendous. Kyle Pitts & Bijan Robinson were the best TE & RB prospects to come out in ages. Somehow with all this talent Kirk Cousins completely fell on his face & now Penix is following suit. Now Cousins is old & maybe Penix is a bust but it isnt a good look for Zac’s resume that’s for sure…….. -

more to the point what does a "lost" season mean? If the team wins some games and Ward and the rookies progress, why is that a lost season? The be fair as bad as things have been through 3 weeks, the Titans have played 3 teams clearly in playoff contention. The Rams and colts are likely division winners and the Broncos are a fringe playoff team. Its clear many had unrealistic expectations for this team for a 3rd year running. The team sucks and has bad coaching/talent. What did fans expect? -
We seem to run a ton of motion and pre read stuff with options at the line and of course in the play. I've been impressed with how much they are giving Cam and how much he is picking up.. I am also very curious to know where he is making mistakes on that stuff that we can't see. Where is he making line calls inaccurately, where is he misreading defenses or audiabling into worse plays. Because- 1) as a rookie I would expect that and 2) Its the type of things some coaches and schemes would not give to rookies. I like they are giving it to him now and helping him grow into it. I just wish we had better view or perspective on mistakes.. so we could see the progression better.

Why can't we beat the teams below? Texans 2x Raiders Browns Saints Patriots Jaguars 2X Add to that a week 1 game which was completely blown due to coaching decisions, I just don't see why this should be accepted as a "lost" season. -
It would be depressing if Marvin Harrison Jr developed a case of Treylon Burksitis.

Downtown replied to AussieTitanFan08's topic in Titans and NFL Talk
Its a lost season other than the viewpoint that we can REALLY wreck some organizations by beating them with this pitiful roster. It starts this week. If Titans can go to Houston and get a win this Sunday, we could send the Texans into a tailspin as their next 4 games are Ravens/Seahawks/49ers/Broncos and I could see a world where implode. Boston media has been brutal on Vrabel so far by having a team worse than Mayo last season after spending a ton of money. A Patriots loss in Nashville would also send that organization into a spiral. These are the games I really REALLY want a win. Otherwise I want as high of a draft pick as possible.
