Welp there it is lol

lol PK posted AI slop and had to delete it    it was a graphic of the 30 most important titans at training camp this year and feature notable titans such as Jared Verse, Jaylon Johnson and N

It would be pretty ideal if Latham is making strides to becoming the OT he was drafted to be and Carmona is a solid starting rookie.

I'm surprised listening to local sports talk how many people seem to hate Cam or have ridiculous takes.  That Rexrode guy was saying that if he has a bad game against the Bears he may be out on him lol...

People have unbelievably short memories.  I wish people could read the stuff they said about him following the end of the season when did, what, threw 10 INTs and a pick in his last eight games?  It's gotten beyond absurd.

Was everything that Young, Locker, Mettenberger, Mariota and Tannehill did under this much of a microscope?  I feel like every single drop back is analyzed at a level that wasn't seen prior.  Maybe with Levis this was how it was which is why I didn't include him above.  I think it's the constant opinions (everyone has one, from A to Z  Nashville to the multiple Titans podcasts to all the nationals shows), things that may not have been around when the other guys were QBs, and everyone having access to those opinions who watch/listen to them as if they're fact which has brought this on.  Who knows, maybe Ward is not going to be good and will be a problem for the Titans.  I don't know.  Nor does anyone else.  However, making these judgments after six drives of meaningless football when none of us have any idea of what players are being asked to do or, as shown in that video above, when none of us even know who was at fault for the deep incompletion to Tate, is flat out ridiculous.  I know we need things to talk about but it's gone overboard.  IMO.

Sign of the times. I did it a bit myself Sunday night. He's a young QB who played for what should have been the worst team in the league if it weren't for the AZ RB dropping the ball at the GL. He's on his 3rd coach in 2 years. New offense he's never played in. And he's always had an unorthodox style. I genuinely believe he will be a top flight QB, but he wasn't ever going to be Burrow coming out.

Looks like his decision making is mostly good or at least fine. He's just lazy w/ his feet which we saw in college.

As a passer, he is surprisingly risk averse for someone who attempts so many crazy throws.  He had a great interception % in college and even last year as a rookie, which was the lowest for any QB in team history.  He makes very good decisions with his arm - not so much with his legs.   I think everyone would be totally happy with his progress if he could avoid the fumbles and unnecessary sacks.

This is going to be a growth year for Cam and personally I feel we will feel as fans really good about him exiting 2026. My hope is he gets Daboll for at least two seasons, I think it will do wonders for his career.

We have to get past this determination on a player based on their first 2-3 year window. Look for signs, not definitives. A year ago everyone was convinced Jayden Daniels was the second coming and after last season, he looks injury prone and like a head case (his mom doesn’t help). Meanwhile, Sam Darnold was one of the most ridiculed QB’s of all time with his seeing ghosts comment. Now, a Super Bowl Champion and Top 10 QB.

Patience friends, patience. It just takes time.

I’ll also add, it’s easy to see which of us posters experienced McNair’s entire career. There was a time I was convinced as a kid that NOD was better. Dumb kid

Maybe, maybe not.  He seemed to be developing nicely at the end of last season.  If he can do that as a rookie under multiple head coaches why can't he continue to get better?  There obviously will be growing pains with him on a team with so many new people, including coaches.

To the best of our ability at the time, yeah.

I don't think it was quite this bad with others where a guy is labeled a bust because he misses four throws and makes a bad play in the first half of the first preseason game in his second season.

Likely the same thing will happen this year. He's never ran any system that's timing based like this.

Each one of those guys got absolutely shredded by at least some group on this board. IMO Cam has easily gotten the best treatment I can remember. To be fair though, Mariota at this point in his career was still beloved. He hadn't shit the bed yet.

I meant more every single drop back getting analyzed.  It's not just here, it's everywhere where the Titans are covered/talked about.  You're right, most of those guys were shredded by certain people.

There are just more eyes on the sport in general and being a smaller market no longer insulates players as much. The world just got bigger. Social media critics and criticism are at an all time high.

This is a bad take.  VY was loved after year 1 on the board.  Mariota was loved after year 1 and all of the blame was squarely on the Whiz...

The last sentence is the key.  That's kind of what I was getting at.

I didn't take into account where each guy was in their career enough. Now this will rattle some cages but part of the reason Cam is getting so much heat is because he didn't really produce at a good enough level last year. Mariota was on a team that was every bit as terrible as the 2025/26 Titans and he showed enough to give people hope that lasted longer than it should have. If Cam struggles again this year the pitchforks will be out. It's not fair because Cam is a better player but it is what it is. Cam's stats were really bad and most casual fans do little more than stat watch.
