Not the draft to need a RB from.  Denver took one now.

I think we took a flier on a good RB without having to give up a great deal of draft capital. It’s a need that we’ll have to address at some point next year either through FA or the draft

I can already see the defense beating on the offense in training camp, especially the DL against the OL

Good.  The OL needs to get used to it and get better.

He has to actually acknowledge that we had a draft, period. And he didn't have anything to do with it.

"This team is a lot better today than they were... Before going into this week"

That guy had to carefully phrase that to underplay how shitty of a job that Ran did

Just a reminder-  Ridley's stats were horriblw last year but he was starting to click right when he started to have hamstring issues in week 6 and then broken fibula in week 8.

When thinking about Tate- what should really help is to have 2 experienced WRs of Ridly and Robinson mixed in. The offense should be a lot better.

If Ridley is healthy then he'll be open quite a bit getting back to the Z role. Time will tell if Tate can play against top flight press CBs, but immediately he opens the offense by pushing Ridley back to his natural role.

They're basically scout treats with almost no chance to start

Anybody see the Kansei Matsuzawa story? A kicker from Japan that never played football but signed with the Raiders as an UDFA. good shit.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansei_Matsuzawa

Matsuzawa planned to play college soccer in Japan, but failed a required examination. His father, who had played youth American football, sent his son to visit the United States in 2018, where he attended a Monday Night Football Rams-Raiders game.

Wanting to play in the NFL, Matsuzawa realized that the best way to do so would be as a placekicker. He taught himself how to kick the ball from YouTube videos while working at a Morton's Steakhouse in Tokyo for three years to save money. Matsuzawa sent footage of his kicking to American universities; only Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio was interested.

At Hocking, Matsuzawa learned English and converted 12 field goals, the longest 50 yards. In 2023, he transferred to the University of Hawaii but did not appear in any games. In his junior season, Matsuzawa started every game, led the team in scoring, and received an athletic scholarship at the end of the year.

During the first game of the 2025 season, Matsuzawa converted a field goal as time expired to beat Stanford, Matsuzawa was named as a consensus All-American, the first University of Hawaii player to earn the honor. He was named to the first team by the American Football Coaches Association, CBS Sports, the Associated Press, and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
