Who gets to set the offensive foundation for Cam? Yes, anyone whos young you can pencil them in as leaving within the next two years. Ultimately, this may be someone who is a key figure in Ward's transition to a franchise QB. Whoever we bring needs to bring a good QB coach with them (who may eventually become OC) and needs to be a football junkie in the way that Ward is, to feed his curiosity about the game.

My assessment of what pairs well for Cam

- A coach that continues to enable his natural tendency to hunt big gains but enforces him not turning the ball over (as we saw in the 2nd half of the season)

- Gives him freedom to check plays at LOS

- Embeds plays that Ward likes as "schedule plays" in the playcall script. RPOs,  modified 4-verts, maybe some cheat motion underbelly screens

- Practices hurry-up offense.

For his development

- Needs focus on consistency of stabilizing his base

- Work on downfield accuracy and ball placement

- Work on blindside ball security

That gif isn’t about me btw. Thats Saleh and McDaniel.

Ultimately, I think Ward owns his own development. I've seen enough that im confident he reaches top level heights no matter who the OC because hes driven that way, but organizational support is important and can help him get there quickly

Saleh will start the dominos this week.  Teams will be filling out staffs in prep for Senior Bowl season.  Still amazed BC did not attend the year he was hired.  Shows how poorly he as prepared to be a HC.  Good ol collaboration with Ran.

McDaniel is getting paid at least $4M through 2028 from his Dolphins contract, so he's financially secure. So unless one of the HC opportunities out there surpasses the cart blanche opportunity to build an offense around Cam Ward, I doubt much of a search is needed. The fact he and Saleh are best buds is just icing on the cake.

The problem is that a bunch of the best OCs are still in play for HC positions. Titans need to walk a fine line here to get the right guy in the building.

It’s only really Buffalo and maybe BAL as far as OC candidates that could be HC options.

Yes, but they are less likely to take any OC gig until they are officially out of the running for one of the HC opportunities. Those are also double threats because whoever they do hire as HC will need an OC as well. Buffalo, Tampa, Eagles all have talent on offense and a good chance to steal any big names the Titans might be interested in.

Of course, they could still probably bring in someone like Slowik and I doubt they would have much competition so I don't think fans should be overly worried unless they have someone specific in mind like McDaniel.

If the Titans were willing to pay that crazy salary to Harbaugh and his staff here is my pitch to Mike McDaniel: Whatever offer you get we will beat by $2M and you can hire whatever offensive staff you want. You get to work with a friend in Saleh who will leave you alone.

That might be the clincher because could you imagine him working w/Harbaugh or Sirani.  He gets carte Blanche here.

TB is a threat because Bowles seems pretty hands off and there’s an easier path to a job .  But again the money and the Saleh connection might tip it in our favor.

Daboll is probably less likely there’s a connection to the Buffalo job as well as the PHI OC job.

I'm thinking that he needed a plan for Ward in order to impress the FO.  And he did make a good OC hire during his first HC stint, so I am confident that that offensive staff won't be nearly as shitty as the last.
