Bongo59
Ridley ran a 4.43 and picked at 26 and was elite route runner. Tate is not close to Ridley coming out. He is a round two WR. Lantern

He is a round two WR. Ridley has a career drop rate of 9%, just below what is considered concerning, and unless I'm mistaken his drop rate is historically higher earlier in any given season. And Tate is faster than the 4.5 he ran at the combine. Any look at his game film will tell you that. You're smoking crack to say he's a 2nd round receiver. He is a A level route runner, A level route savy vs zone, A+++++ hands and body control, B+ blocker. His physical traits only being B with C level Rac. He doesn't have the crazy highlight reel catches because he makes every catch look routine. He doesn't run away from defenders after the catch on deep balls because he already cooked them on the route. It would be awsome to see him breaking tackles and making guys miss on the short to intermediate stuff but that isn't as necessary if you are catching the ball apast the sticks 80% of the time anyway. Allof this sounds like Ridley... who went 23 in the first round. Nabers was more athletic and dynamic. He went 6th. Is he better than Nabers or as good as coming out? I'm not talking about looking at Ridley's career and like we do Brady adn saying.. we can get a qb in the 6th. I'm saying coming out of college, Tate doesnt seem better than ridley coming out of college or as good as Nabers. Will I be upset if they get him at 4.. no. but. I will feel he's a bit of a reach. cenj
It's gonna be interesting to see what they do in free agency. Between the trade for JJ, the inevitable signing JF Myers, several other potential EDGE guys available, and depth in the draft, this has become a great year to improve pass rushing. It will depend on who they sign obviously, but I could definitely see them solidifying the DL before the draft, giving them flexibility to wait and grab someone later to develop. I do think it's telling that despite huge holes at CB, we are hearing nothing about the Titans aggressively looking to draft or sign premier guys there. They clearly feel good about being able to handle that position without investing high picks or huge contracts.

NashvilleNinja
I haven't seen much mention of the FA linebackers like the Devins Bush and Lloyd. Any chance we sign one of them? Also, does it look like Cody Barton will stay in their plans or will they move on from him?
TeamRamrod
1 hour ago, Pragidealist said: I don't like Tate. I do want to get Cam weapons. I don't see any worth a high pick in the draft, so that means FA. Then its all about who is available and how far they will go. They have absolutely talked about needing to get Cam weapons. And that his development is the #1 priority. So the question is.. how will they do that? That does not mean we dont get edge in FA. I think the Titans are going to be very active in FA... at most positions.. not the top, expensive or older targets. Mostly younger and hard to get targets. WR is really really hard to get excellent starters in mid ot later FA. So.. I am just wondering how far the Titans will go and what is possible. WE usuallly just get cheaper and older WR in FA. Ridley was the decent one we signed that I an remember. Are we feeling good with Ridley and one FA target, Dike, Elric and another mid round draft pick? After the offensive melt down last year? You’ve watched these prospects? Also how much money do you expect them to spend? lol your list of things you want is gonna be like 100 million dollars AAV when you consider they’re almost surely gonna get Franklin Meyers for 20 million a year too. And that’s not even enough guys to fill out half the roster lol japan

To be fair ridley is a good route runner of similar size but tate blows him out of the water with his hands, nuance and body control. Bongo59
I've been clear on Tate. Like him as a WR but never in the first round. He has great hands but he isn't a one. He has gotten all his numbers against the second CB and slot CB. When he runs below expectations he becomes a bottom of one WR like Reggie Wayne or Ridley. cenj
I'll accept Love at our pick if they can develop him as a pure WR on the outside. That's what would make it worth it; not some two-way BS with Travis Hunter, but a top 3 NFL RB with homerun speed who can also straight up play WR on the outside. I wonder how far they'll go for weapons for Cam. There are not usually (to my memory) this many good wrs in FA. Yes I've watched them
