Titans Get The #4 Pick In The Draft

I think many like the idea of Styles. But Styles the player has not really shown the level of impact many are claiming. Its a huge projection but at 4, that projection MUST be realized almost immediately. If we must wait until year 3 or 4 for him to become this Bobby Wagner type player then its a bad pick. Full stop. 

 

The very reasonable retort to anyone talking about how "great LBs look with Saleh" is none of those LBs had to be drafted on Day 1

A MLB who can cover on conflicted downs the middle of the field has a ton of value. Guys like Derrick Brooks, Kuchley and even Keith Bulluck provided this skill set. 

 

Whether he measures up to that is another story, that's true with anyone picked at 4. 

 

I'd take an edge over Styles, but I'm taking Styles over a RB.

Why does a guy like Kyle Louis not make just as much sense as Styles? 

 

I see all this talk about top defenses needing a LB who can remain on the field in obvious passing downs. Louis does that better than Styles, frankly.

 

I just dont see this game changing impact thats worth taking Styles at 4.

iLB should be deep for R2 and R3; Hill, Rodriguez, Allen, Louis, etc etc. prefer that to Styles at 4. That would be horrendous. He’d need to turn into Ray Lewis to be worth it.

At pick #4 in this particular draft it isn't as simple as just take the best offensive player because you aren't talking about a LT or WR as being the BPA there.

 

I have no issues if Borgonzi ultimately ends up taking Love it just isn't as straightforward a decision as some here seem to think it is.

I feel like Styles is more what he could be in a few years than what he actually is right now which scares me a bit. He might not be instant impact which is going to be bad for our situation.

 

Luke Kuechly was no brainer stud. He had the production, intangibles, instincts, athleticism, etc. Styles could be really good but I think he's a little more risky than some think. He's not automatic plug and play stud to me.

I'm not a fan of Styles at 4 but he is significantly better than Kyle Louis for us. Louis is essentially a slot CB who was listed as a LB

The same thing applies to RBs. I've already said I'd take either edge rusher before Styles. 

 

But because of where the Titans are drafting they may have to draft a non premier position

and where was he taken? Btw the 49ers gave up 21.3ppg with Warner last year, 23 ppg with Bethune and that is skewed by a bad game against the Bears where the 49ers gave up 38. You can get impact MLBs much later, same with RBs. Its the same argument
