Love immediately makes you a more explosive team. He's going to add 10-20 TDs a year through the run and pass game. He's going to upgrade your pass protection. He's going to force teams to account for

The Jaguars gave up what again for Travis Hunter? This notion we should take less capital is kind of mind boggling. If a team wants to move then they need to pay the full price.

Of course.  This team is devoid of talent.  Taking a RB at 4 seems a little crazy when you can add additional top talent with a trade back.  People with blinders on regarding the value of a RB (We're RB U!)

The RB is the top talent.

You can blame that more on Robinson who decided not to extend anyone...  Guy had two All-Pros...

Fair. I wasn't really meaning to dismiss Conklin. I was more just saying that draft and trade down had some odd results. I mean trading down the Titans passed on what was the best RB in that draft and ended up with Henry -  no one knew what Henry was going to be.

Conklin was a fine pick but circumstances didn't turn that into what you want when you take a T high.

They passed on some good players that if we did it again- might we do something a bit differently?  Absolutely.   They ended up that with a cornerstone player in Henry in the 2nd round but I dont think you trade down and bet on finding that level of player in the 2nd. I mean teh titans passed Henry three times really.  They got him with their second pick in the 2nd round.

*shrugs*-  just goes to show.. in the end- as much entertainment we get from this... is all pretty crazy what can turn out.

I don't really care which of the 5 most likely guys they take as they would be getting a good player who can help this team so I'm not overly bothered either way about Reese being there or not.

assuming Bailey and Reese are gone, who are the top 5?

What credibility doesn't Freeze have when it comes to the Jets beat?

It’s fair to not like Freeze but he does have friends he talks to all across the league. That aside, it’s not like that beat also isn’t posting about it publicly lol

Yet another reason to trade down if we can, and even if it isn't for "top" trade value. There other than Mendoza (and I have my doubts) and Love, there are no consensus blue chippers or top guys in this draft. Dropping down, even out of the top 10, arguably will not affect the quality of player we can get at all, while allowing us more draft capital. The lack of consensus blue-chippers also means it's unlikely we will have a trade partner, but I would take the 9 and 40 from the Chiefs, for example, in a heartbeat. For all I know the guy we like the most is as likely to be there at 9 as he is at 4.
