Love immediately makes you a more explosive team. He's going to add 10-20 TDs a year through the run and pass game. He's going to upgrade your pass protection. He's going to force teams to account for

The Jaguars gave up what again for Travis Hunter? This notion we should take less capital is kind of mind boggling. If a team wants to move then they need to pay the full price.

• Teams I’ve talked to really, really like Indiana receiver Omar Cooper Jr., who’s tough as nails, clean character-wise and has the versatility to play inside and outside. Best known for the otherworldly catch he made to beat Penn State, he might be better than any receiver in the draft after the catch, and I think some teams have him right there with the best wideouts in the entire class.

• More teams than I thought actually prefer Akheem Mesidor to fellow Miami edge Rueben Bain Jr., which both reflects what a good prospect Mesidor is and also illustrates how Bain’s lack of length affects his evaluation in the view of some (but not all) scouts. The problem is Mesidor just turned 25 and has an injury history. But he’s a really, really good player.

• Arizona State OT Max Iheanachor has helped himself through the process. He’s a heck of a story—an AAU hoops star and Nigerian immigrant who was convinced to give football a shot in junior college, based on his size and athleticism, before becoming a Sun Devil. There’s a ton of room for Iheanachor to grow, and he could become someone’s long-term left tackle, if they have the infrastructure to develop him the right way. Teams are most certainly intrigued.

I'd get so annoyed when teams that have the #1 pick take several minutes like come on wtf. You've had all offseason to decide. No one can jump you, it's the first pick.

That was mandated by the nfl. They didnt want teams just picking. That and you always have a small chance some team will offer the world for the pick so Im pro using all the time as well.

True. But I'm thinking of situations like Burrow going #1. Like come on everyone knew he was getting picked at 1 and it still took several minutes. Mendoza picked shouldn't take up most of the clock.

Your right that quite often it is painfully obvious and the using the clock part to try and waterboard some picks out of someone isn't always viable.

Notable Simpson, Hood, and McDonald are going

Simpson could get picked but that's a hard risk to take...

It’s even worse when you think about it.  Look everyone pretty much knows who the first pick is the week of the draft .  So there’s no excitement.

Add in all that PR stuff they do before the pick is announced . And then they make the team with the first pick take most of the time and it’s just a giant waste of everyone’s time.

If I had to guess, I think the first 4 picks......

Love

Off Ball LB (Golday, Hill Jr, Rodriguez, Trotter, etc)

RG

WR

Thought about RG in round 2, but Borg's comments about competition at C and RG make me think IOL is more of a 3-4 round pick. If you're taking a guy round 2 you're drafting him to be a starter.

Think Saleh will be looking for his Fred Warner in round 2. I don't think it'll be Styles at 4, but one of the 2nd tier guys at 35 or in a trade down.

i was thinking the same And was hoping for a Rodriguez 2nd rounder but they've been bringing in later round off ball / pass defense LBs.

Yes. There's been a few occasions where ok I could see it taking longer. When it's a year where a QB didn't get picked 1 like 08, 22, or 06 you might be weighing scenarios and trade down options til the end. But when it's a year where it's no brainer like Burrow, Luck, or Mendoza about to be #1 seriously come on. I'm going to be so annoyed if it takes several minutes for us to wait for Mendoza. LV isn't trading the pick. There's no drama. Just turn the damn card in and get to pick 2.
