Alcibiades
I would take Stefanski tomorrow, if he'll do it. The Browns are fools. Coaching was not the problem for them this year. Whatever they are doing with their QB situation is just nonsense. Coaches can't fix that. I actually thought the Browns were more competitive than they should have been. That defense was legit all year. The offense had plays to be made, but not the talent to do it. He'd be great here, IMO. charleytolar, Tex in a Can, and oracle

I don't think an almost 40 year old QB is going to be that appealing to a HC. BTW, the highest paid on the player team IS Cousins, a backup QB. SMH at that roster building. They have major questions at QB with a QB who is extremely injury prone and no 1st round pick this year. Penix got benched this year. I'd be hesitant to hitch my wagon to him as a HC. That and he can't stay healthy. Blank has a rep for being a stable owner, but he's been a lot more trigger happy in recent years. Lol. Penix didn’t get benched. He got pulled in a week 3 blowout. oracle

He should’ve been benched, he was awful and Cousins was way better If Cousins had played all year they would’ve won the division by a couple games titanruss, and oracle

Especially given his incredible work with other "washed" QBs like Case Keenum & Joe Flacco which is why he is regarded so highly.

I can’t figure out if Ballard really knows what he’s doing or thinks he’s smarter than he is with the way he drafts. He uses more picks on “combine guys” than any other GM, and it’s not close. Early rds as well. I mean, if there was ever a GM to draft Richardson at 4 it was Ballard. Id have to go & look back but it also seemed to me that the majority of his “combine guys” were OL & front 7 defense, some secondary. But at the skill spots it seemed more production & pro ready guys like Warren, Downs, Pittman, etc. But anyway it didn’t work for awhile but it sure came together before the QB injuries. It’s easy to forget how great they were playing early on with Daniel Jones at QB. Going weeks without punting, running over teams with power & Jones playing smart whole also making big throws downfield & running great. Games were often well over at the half. That’s a stacked roster though with a huge question mark at QB.

He’s built a great OL which is not easy, and their pass catchers all play well off eachother But how many GMs get as many bites at the QB apple as he has? My take on Ballard, he wants to assemble a team with above average starters across the board but in the mean time he does not have a high ratio of star players. He's traded first round picks for multiple 2's at least twice. Beyond Jonathan Taylor and maybe Buckner and Latu there wasn't much going into the season. And overpaying for Sauce, man, the Jets were like we don't want to trade him but you being crazy.

I'll be interested to see if the Titans have serious interest. Something tells me the HC search is not really going to be receptive to "surprise" candidates entering the pool. Plus I think NYG will push very hard for him. oldschool
