rumor is Amy was the one demanding all the wr screens

Why hire Brinker and give him total control over football decisions if you're going to meddle and make decisions like this.    She's just like her dad if this story is true and there is litt

It's 1 of 32. It is going to attract a quality candidate. The bears fired Matt Eberflus midseason and hired Ben Johnson.    This whole notion of "no one is going to want the job" is bullshit

She's just like her dad if this story is true and there is little hope to fixing things.

This also makes it likely she got emotional after the Eagles game, where AJ Brown went off and fired Robinson mid season

Personally, I think this is speculation and that these local reporters have very little insider knowledge at this point. Most GMs would’ve pulled the plug at this point.

He tried kicking a 59 yard field goal, called time out, came back to huddle got 5 yard penalty , they missed then ontop of that his play calls came way to late put everyone behind the 8th ball, his not knowing the rules, his lack of preparation and focus. He was clearly in over his head and he should be nothing more than a OC/QBs coach. He got demoted from calling plays and still couldn’t get the team motivated to play hard against a very mediocre cardinal team and very bad raider team

She saw how good Elic was as a blocker when she was grinding the tape. That’s why she fired Callahan. Wasn’t letting the man smash people.

They didn't have a plan because the decision was 100% AAS (as you said!), and they looked stressed (as you said!) at the presser because they did not expect this to happen.

Clearly the football guys didn't want to do this. AAS did it for non-football reasons (as you said!).

If you think firing him now is the right call, explain why you think Brinker and Borganzi wanted to allow him to keep coaching and why that doesn't make their football judgment suspect.

Amy wanted to keep him.  She could have fired everyone, but she made Carthon the scapegoat.

FO guys care about winning, but they mostly care about keeping their jobs.  Convincing Amy to fire a coach she wanted to keep takes the pressure off of her and Callahan and puts it on them. And there was no guarantee that they'd be successful considering the rookie QB and roster issues .   All of this should have been avoided by firing him, but good luck going against Amy's wishes and still having a job.

Brinker has to go, he is part of the problem also

When you consider that he was brought in as Rans assistant, then elevated to evp or pres or whatever he is…..you def have to wonder how Amy rationalized that decision in her own mind.

im officially questioning him at this point.  He’s presided over this whole mess and is accountable for it too

okay lets break this down. We agree she hasn't hired the best people but if you remove emotion from it, can you call the Jrob and Vrabel hires bad? Both had success here. jrob just fell off a cliff in the draft and sucked at keeping the roster good. Vrabel was a good HC here who forced his way out. Were these bad decisions to hire them because she ended up firing them years later?

Carthon was a horrible hire but he was a top candidate, came from the 49ers who have a strong Front office. The bigger mistake there is hiring a #3 to be your #1. With Callahan, she made the final call to hire him but we know its was Brinker and Carthon who led that search. Obivously a bad hire but again, Callahan was widely regarded as a top tier candidate. The jury is still out on Brinker and Borgonzi.

Where are these compounding bad decisions you keep speaking of?

Again, it's not the decisions themselves but the indecision she shows while making them. Her moves often contradict each other  and none of them actually get us any closer to being a good football team. I feel like I've explained my issues with her adequately at this point. If you have no concerns then I really don't know what to tell you. What I can confidently say is that unless she starts handling her business differently or Borgonzi has the Midas touch we'll be having the same exact conversation about the next "worst coach ever" in 2 years time. Brinker should at least get a suitcase or 2 ready.
