Or... hes the franchise QB and the team has already moved forward and asked him to have involvement in the hiring process (they have).

I dont understand the laughter from @rns90. Youre an idiot if you think otherwise. He essentially says it in this presser.

My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

I’ll answer then:  they are not giving him the power that you think.

They aren’t going to let him vet out these guys or even make up the list.  His only factor might be whether or not he likes or gets along with the guy.

That is the extent of his input.

Its not a big deal and you guys can stop crying

Ward gets the opportunity to listen to the interviews, maybe ask a few questions, and express his opinion. Nothing wrong with providing input for Borgonzi to consider.

He basically said he would ask the candidates what they think he does well, and what they think he needs to improve on. Individually and as a team. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Not quite the same as what I said but kinda similar. Definitely not something to worry about like he whats to be making the decision.

Sounds like he just wants to ask some questions so the guys making the decisions can hesr the response even if I am sure he would like to know as well.

Just say you agree with me

you are mistaking him asking to be involved with him being involved..... They are not the same thing. And no, he shouldn't have any say in who the next HC is. He hasn't earned that right.

If they had any conversations with him about the next coach then its to ask him to have some involvement

Schefter on 104.5 says Titans want former experienced HC, not a OC, or DC. That narrows the field down quite a bit.

I've been saying this and it had been reported well before Shitfer said it. Doesn't mean its completely true though. His whole interview was just repeating things said before and placating to the hosts when having to answer anything opinion related.

I posted a list earlier in the thread of every single coach that had ever been a HC in the NFL within the last 20 years.. then narrowed it down to people under like 60 or 65 i think. If you also include Brinkers words that they believe in the process and type of coach they were going for last time... that narrows the list even more to only Offensive guys.

Its a pretty short list once you do either or both of those.

There's been a pretty big push lately to over-correct back towards the Vrabel Defensive archetype. Not sure if thats coming from in-house or just what the media wants again.

I'd like to find a list of any current or former power 5 conference HC's from the last 25 years that have, at-minimum, coordinator experience in the NFL too.

Ward has had some good moments, but hasn't played nearly well enough to be vocal about anything to the media - - that's the part he doesn't get. He has a complete pass with no expectations this year, while everyone else on the roster knows consequences are about to hit.  Next year, he has to produce just like any other QB or be benched like so many others are.

Pretty sure he is well aware of this, which is likely why he wants to be on the same page and involved with who the next hire will be.

Matt Nagy

Arthur Smith

Mike McCarthy

Robert Saleh

Jim Schwartz

Anthony Weaver (the only coach on the list without  HC experience but I think he'll get an interview)

Kevin Stefanski (if fired by Cleveland, likely)

Mike Mcdaniel (unlikely to be let go by Miami)

I think one of those will be the guy.
