My guess is a shift to align more with what he did in college in terms of passing concepts to try and help him take the next step as a passer. 
 

I do think Slowik would be a top 2 OC option for Weaver. Has the experience with a young QB and full control of the offense under a defensive HC. Coordinators are always better their 2nd and 3rd times around too.

I do think Ward is a better, more natural fit for the Shanahan system than Stroud though.

Schefter on 104.5 says Titans want former experienced HC, not a OC, or DC. That narrows the field down quite a bit.

The thing about Nagy is that he is a "leader of men" type, but he isn't an offensive guru. And he doesn't have quite the charisma of Weaver, actually very very few coaches do. 

 

To me, Nagy is a better HC than coordinator. The thing that alarms me about Nagy is that he's going to want to call plays. And Saleh said the other day that the one thing he wants to do different than his first HC stint is call defensive plays. 

 

Personally, not a fan of the HC calling plays ideally. It has worked for other teams with legendary play callers, but it has never worked for us.

McCarthy just seems to be the one that checks the most boxes.  Experienced, winning headcoach, has developed qbs, is offensive focused, connections to Titans FO.  Has worked for an org with the philosophy they are trying to build in TN. 

 

I don't know if anyone else who checks as many boxes.

Exactly........McCarthy has won in the NFL. None of the others with head coaching experience can match his resume.

He did overlap with the BOB tree a bit in his later Texans stint as well, but I think he’d be more inclined toward guys like Slowik or Mike LaFleur for OC, maybe a Klay Kubiak. 
 

I like the idea of a Mike LaFleur/Mike Munchak combo. It was widely known when Callahan was hired that Munchak was open to coaching in Nashville again, and Munch worked with LaFleur with the Rams for a couple years there from 2023-2024. 

 

Our last coach before Callahan came from the BOB Tree
