cenj
I don't have a huge problem with the pick, it's the asinine comments by Carthon and Callahan afterwards that instill zero confidence their 7th overall pick can play LT. Alt was gone and we needed a LT. They had their pick of guys and chose Latham over others, including pure LTs. 6 QBs went top 12, so if they were indifferent on which tackle to draft, they probably could have traded back and grabbed someone. They were never going WR at 7 after the Ridley signing. I love Odunze as a prospect, but no way you take him over a starting LT. And I don't think Latham was especially overdrafted -- he was mocked to Chargers plenty. He's physically the most imposing tackle -- size, arm length, hand size, wingspan. And he's not the raw risk like Mims, or a lazy idiot like some. I just hope they can develop him and his feet are quick enough to play LT. flaming_thumbtack
I trust Bill Callahan to mold Latham into a quality LT, but the doom and gloom around the prospect of him playing RT is exhausting. This isn’t 2008. The highest paid lineman in the league is now a RT. 5 of the top ten OTs by AAV are RTs. If you have the best LT in the league and a shit RT, defenses exploit that, and you may as well have zero good OTs. It’s 2024. RBs and ILBs are almost ignored across the league. WR is viewed as potentially the most valuable non-QB position and is at worst neck and neck with OT and EDGE for that title. And RT is just as valuable as LT. LT is historically the “sexier” position, but the numbers don’t lie. Getting a long term answer at RT is a massive win if that’s what Latham ends up being. oldschool, titanruss, and TeamRamrod 2

Righteous
Draft the best players on the Board. Last year, we hatd Sko, Levis, and Spears. Now we want to build the team around them. And here is the thing @WG53 Ran and I are in rival Frats. My go to joke in the community (as guess you would call it a hood) is if he chose the Frat he joined then he is used to making bad decisions and that's not good as a GM. But the racist you are, you just think all Blacks think, talk, and walk the same. We all support each other because we are in the same gang. We like to steal, rob and commit crime. What is it, 13/52 or 13/90? Fuck you Bitch! You are the worst in society, lucky enough to hide behind a keyboard.

You sure like to use the term projection but never apply it properly. Edited April 26, 2024 by WG53

There were two elite WR prospects there, and they passed in favor of sticking with Josh "NWI of the West" Palmer as WR1. That said, they don't even have to think about LT, RT, or QB for the next 10 years. They have gaps almost everywhere else, but there are worse places to start (though I'd personally prefer one OT + QB + WR1).

And it is hilarious to see you say anything like "I won’t let my favorite sport to be reduced to color". You dumb fuck that is all you ever do here. Stalking you? LOL you fucking wish. I haven’t responded to your bitch ass in years. But let’s talk about it. Now, you mfers pretend that Stroud was a sure fire number 2 pick. How many times have you talked about his S2 score? Lamar? Watson? I say watch the tape. How many times have you all repped Kolb, Cousins, Mayfield, and Wentz? Tannehill? You all make it race….I just say why? Keep it tape. Performance…winning. And now I am the racist for saying let’s not talk about race. I think the youngsters call that gaslighting. I make you racists uncomfortable. socaltitan

freakingeek
Nick Saban gushed about him for what seemed like 10 minutes. Especially about his physicality, his character and leadership. With Alt and Narbors gone the pick makes a ton of sense and its another step towards solidifying the Oline for a long time to come. The draft board didn't fall as good as it could have but I still think we got a great player. titanskick8851, Number9, DCTitan, and 1 other
