The left side of the OL could be dominant

You guys remember when we took the most pro-ready offensive lineman from Alabama with a HOF o-line coach on the staff in 2013?   That was fun.

That is a horrible message to send to the fan base that your top 10 pick may fail at the position you hope he plays.

They have options now. They basically alluded to seeing the tackles as equally important. Regardless, if Latham can hold down his side, you can now shift help to NPF, and suddenly, he looks like a better player. You'll also be able to run to the left side and consistently find success, which will put you in better passing situations and help the entire line.

They could still bring in another OT as well, either through FA or the draft.

yes?

He's not bad but has had had his struggles and isn't a top flight LT by any means, especially relative to his draft position.

Love your opinions & analysis, but you appreciate resumes a little too much. A great coach doesn't equate to a great talent evaluator, nor vice versa.

Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not trying to rationalize this pick. TBD is a optimistic as I can get with it.

Man, you were right. People were WAY too low on Latham. He wasn't my guy or anything but the board thinks he's a bum lol.

Sorry, but terrible value at 7 imo. Hate the pick there but I hope I'm wrong.

Same here. I'll get over it but I'm losing confidence in the FO draft chops.

As a huge amateur scout guy, this is where fans really do have to take a breath. We might not have gotten the guy we all wanted but the team did the right thing and addressed the biggest position of need with a very highly rated guy. Whether it works out or not, this is what we what the team to do.

I didn't turn the draft off like after we picked levis so there is some optimism in me lol.

Let's see how it goes. He has some crazy good traits some average ones and some bad habits. Here we go 🤞

No energy to fight with this, but these are massive "ifs" when they held essentially the 4th pick on the draft.

There were absolutely safer options, and seemingly trade backs with the QB's taken.

I won't shit on the pick any further, but seems like rationalizations are flying around.

They better be right...

I feel like if they wanted Becton they would have already brought him in.

At this point, I would probably take a late round guy that Callahan likes and see what he can do with the other guys on the roster. Callahan was able to make Watson look like an average starter last year so I'd like to see what he can do with guys like Duncan, NPF, and Radunz.

Having said that, if he says the talent isn't there, go OT again at 38 or 106 and don't worry about it because your priority has to be to fix the line for the long term and evaluate Levis.
