The only ones I knew for drugs were weed - 420 then followed by a 10, 20, or 40 depending on the size bag. Then,  if you were texting from an unknown number (which happened a lot because people shared phones and pagers and shit back then)  you'd add your "code" numbers so the guy knew who it was.  Often just the last 3 of your home phone.

My parents got one when I was in high school….but we only had it for about a year before the broadcasters caught on and started scrambling their satellite feeds.   And within a year or so, most of the best premium channels were being scrambled;   the only stuff you could pick up in the clear was freaking cooking shows from Abu Dhabi or whatever.  

 

We had cable, but didn't subscribe to HBO or Showtime (I think those were about the only premium channels out there). When you tuned to one of those channels you'd see mostly snow...but if you looked closely enough you could still make out the titties.

And if you had the right cheater board, you could access XXX porn which distributors used to use to send to stores who then made their own VHS tapes, don't ask me how I know this. Sunday Ticket was like $69, but you had to move the dish between 3 different satelites to see all the game.
