It feels good, but we can't get complacent. As an undefeated team, we're gonna get everyone's best from here on out.

Levis has gone from awful to whatever is worse than awful.

Zach Lyons just said on the radio that Sam Darnold said the seahawks did a full game plan for their backups against the Titans.

That first play is more impressive than anything Barton has done in his career.  It's clear that he's already the best coverage LB on the team, and should get PT based on that alone.

Hill was a great pick at this slot.

They've not won more than 12 games in 3 years. And all those painfully winless seasons were painfully winless for reasons that had nothing to do with how they looked in preseason. Preseason is just an exercise in going through the motions. Some teams go all out in effort, others just try to make it through injury free. But they're not treating these games like how they treat a regular season game.

Dismiss that fact at your own peril. Of course people are not going to stop freaking out about sloppy preseason play until they have competitive, winning regular season play to contrast that against. But all the hand wringing over Tate not having a catch yet or Cam overthrowing shit is going to feel super cringe in a few weeks.

Barton had one of the best INTs of any player last year

Kid has great hands for a LB. I noticed that in his tape, specifically one towards the sideline where he did a full 180 leap hands catch at the peak. He's going to be a really good player. He still struggles a bit with run fits and getting washed out, but it's more not sticking to his reads and keys than it is a power or technique issue.

I don't know man. They stated it was a priority to get the first team a lot of reps in preseason, so obviously they think it's important. I was a bit hammered after my FF draft last night and probably made too much of Ward, but it is noticeable that he does not look comfortable sitting in the pocket right now.

I think they’ve been drilling him all summer on footwork, climbing the pocket correctly etc. probably the right play, but you are correct he does not look comfortable doing it

A couple of the bad misses had really awkward footwork climbing the pocket in both the 49ers and Seahawks games

The good thing is, it’s definitely the time to do it. They’re treating it as practice

What's noticeable on the other side is he's being a lot more decisive with his reads and is obviously adjusting to the timing based offense. I don't think we can make any definitive conclusions, but it's obvious he's made progress on timing while still struggling with the mechanics.

It is a little shocking that a second year guy wouldn't feel comfortable 4 weeks into a new offense...

That isn't the point. His pocket presence was one of his best attributes in college and last year. He's not climbing the pocket in the two preseason games, which seems like it's because he's struggling a bit with the fact they're telling him to run more. I think it'll be fine given time, but I'm not sure if this quick read offense is the best way to coach a guy like Ward. On the other hand, he is making his reads quicker, which is good to see.
