Dangermode
9 hours ago, rns90 said: Only question is whether or not they go after the top guys if they come free (Phillips, Oweh) or stick to the mid tier (Paye, Mafe). Also whether or not they sign multiple level guys who can play major snaps. Based on what we know of Borgonzi, it seems unlikely that they’d break the bank on Oweh or Hendrickson. My guess is they try to emulate Seattles 4 man platoon at EDGE and bring in a combination of 2-3 of the huge number of mid tier guys available. There are so many interesting Edge and CB free agents this year, we could completely rebuild those rooms before the draft even starts.
Dangermode
Also, I think Jaelan Phillips will be off the Titans FA board entirely because of his EXTENSIVE injury history. He medically retired in college due to too man concussions. Then recently he had back to back season ending Grade 3 Achilles and ACL injuries in 2023 and 2024. Sprinkle in various other injuries and concussions in the NFL and he’s not even remotely a Borgonzi type of guy. Supernope
OILERMAN
1 hour ago, BeedoeLaw said: Sweat may be lazy, he may not take care of his body like he should, but he is not a traditional NT. His movement skills are not that of a traditional NT. He could absolutely work out in Saleh's defense if he matures by taking his job seriously. If eats right, trains correctly, and reshapes his mindset he could be a key contributor on the DL. Name me one NT that could run with the football the way Sweat did after he got the turnover in his 1st season. At 465lbs that man looked like a RB. I think if would be stupid to trade him without seeing what he does this offseason with a clean slate. Exactly, the reason he went so high in the draft for his position is because he's explosive and can penetrate while having insane size. His problem is getting into top shape, not his fit in the new defense BeedoeLaw, TF_Titan, Omar, and 1 other

He was supposed to work out with Simmons last year and didn't. If he doesn't this year and he's still in bad shape do you see them continuing to wait around on him? I'd rather take the chance on him getting into shape vs just giving him away. Whos going to give anything decent for him if he doesn't prove he can improve his fitness level. japan, NashvilleNinja, BeedoeLaw, and 2 others
OILERMAN
BTW, it's too bad Tart had to go full retard when it was time to extend him. He seems to be more mature, playing well and got a new deal from the Chargers. Had he acted right a few years ago the Titans would have already had a player for the role Sweat has. I do think Sweat is more explosive though... DallasTitan, and Starkiller

9 Nines
Isaiah Likely. He might be more an X receiver than a TE. He was going into the last year of his rookie contract last year, and all reports were the Ravens were aiming to start him over Andrews, but he broke a foot bone early in camp. Before that injury, defensive players were reporting how hard he was to cover, with reports of quickness and slipperiness and reports of how fast he seemed when you are actually matched up on him. If he had performed the way camp started and built on his 2024 play, the Ravens might have made him the highest paid TE early in the 2025 season locking him up long term, but the injury happened. Now the Ravens are likely to lose Likely because the team, with a lot already allocated to TEs and not seeing how he did as the #1 TE, can not afford the $15+ million/yr deal some are projecting he will receive. This might be a chance to get a Kelce/Kittle difference maker on offense playing a hybrid TE giving the team more cushion in finding a top WR. They are similar players with the exception that Chig stays healthy and hasn’t played with a Top 5 QB his whole career like Likely. I like Likely, but the only true part of his game that is better than Chigs, is down in the Red Zone. Other than that, they are essentially like for like. He is a better blocker though. Overall, I’d prefer they go after the other Ravens TE, Charlie Kolar. Edited February 21 by titanskick8851 Omar

Very good blocker who was underused in the pass game because Andrews and Likely were ahead of him in the rotation. One thing I like about Saleh and his defenses is he makes guys better. Don't discount Femi, Sweat, Winston, Harris, etc taking big steps forward in the next year or two.
