He was 14th on the team in receiving last year and 10th the year before! Sure, he was behind 4 rookies last year and didnt produce nearly as much as them but he showed more with LESS. He had 125 yards in his college career and he's 26 and oft injured... but you dont see how good he really is. Dude has made 7 receptions in 2 years and played like 2% of offensive snaps. I would argue his contributions are being overstated. By a lot. Although at that point you have to start questioning why is he the Cam whisperer but ... athletic deficiencies aside, he did have a clear connection with Cam the moment he hit the field last year. That's only so useful on the field at this level but if he's a glorified throwing dummy off the field and they just vibe and it helps Cam then who the fuck cares? It’s a waste of a practice squad spot. Especially now that you can stash vested vets who can actually play and help a team on the practice squad . This isn’t like before . There are advantages to the practice squad now and you really shouldn’t be wasting it on a stiff . Justafan

I agree in principle but if Cam wants him then whatever. rns90

There was a report last year that Oliver was one of the teams best STs players. That's why it's being posted that Ayo had to beat him out for the 5th game day WR spot. The 5th guy isn't going to get enough targets to matter. OILERMAN, and oldschool 1

The 5th active WR spot is a ST spot, not a WR spot. It doesn't matter who's ahead on the WR depth chart. Whoever's ahead on the ST depth chart is going to get that spot. titanruss
Hard to know that Oliver is one of the best at ST or WR. He was active 3 games last season and was behind the WR - by a HUGE margin - that people are claiming he is better than. He's old for such lack of experience. I dont know what he did on ST but it looks like coverage or a gunner. 6 tackles for his career. He returned 3 kicks in 2024 but that job is clearly no longer his. So half his ST job has been replaced already. All of his production occurred before Bones was hired too. He's at least 6th on the WR depth chart, was clearly the worst college WR on the roster and his pro production is on par with 6th-9th on the depth chart but he's 3 years older than those guys. I will say he is likely Dabolls prototype for size but I run out of advantages for him after that. Oliver is a PS diamond in the rough hopeful - just like most PS guys should be - but his time is running out. Edited May 4 by titanruss
