Titans Offseason Discussion Thread

I think keeping Ridley makes a ton of sense right now.  He has the speed and he still runs great routes.  I think all offensive guys were screwed under the Cally regime.  I put ridley, Chig and Levis in that group.

We all need to wait and see about his "speed" when he just suffered a serious leg injury post 30 years old. Usually an injury like that saps some of the athleticism players have.

No idea where this nugget fits so thought it might worth starting a thread for all Titans non HC offseason discussion.   This was meant to happen last offseason but Sweat never showed up so

Who will we draft? The answer has been there the whole time.

That’s a lot of hooch

Reading both of these (offense and defense FA’s), it struck me that there is way more available on defense that fits our needs.

Adding an edge (I’m guessing Oweh or Mafe), CB and IDL seems pretty easy  and could  fast track our defense to be much improved.

Signing Franklin-Myers, Mafe, and Jaylen Watson is an easy defensive overhaul. I assume Oweh is going back to LAC since they have tons of cap space and traded a decent player + a 5th rd pick for him.

Yep I was going to say the same on JFM. I am about 90% sure they will sign him. I am good with Mafe as he has been largely healthy his entire career. Phillips would be great but injury history is scary. Agree that the quickest way to get better is spending resources on good players on defense to keep us in games. Sheldon Rankins is another DT with Saleh ties that could be a lower cost.

At LB could we see them sign Quincy Williams (who was an All-Pro under Saleh and potential DC Mike Rutenberg) or Kaden Elliss (played under Rutenberg for ATL).

CB - I could see them go a miriad of ways. Watson has the Borgonzi connections. If they hire Al Harris, Nashon Wright and even Treyvon Diggs makes some sense. Alontae Taylor has the Ziegler connections and we saw first hand the ball skills he has when we played them. If they are going more Cover 3, Riq Woolen could be the big fish they chase. Cordale Flott will have Daboll connections. My favorite might be Jamel Dean though as he is the type of veteran they need in the secondary.

What stuck me is that it should be easy to upgrade RB, a true blocking TE and defensive front but just the opposite with WR and OG.

There are some decent OG options (Alijah Vera-Tucker, re-sign Kevin Zeitler, David Edwrds, Greg Van Roten, Daniel Faalele, Isaac Seumalo, Dalton Risner).

Agree on WR that there isn't necessarily someone worth breaking the bank for.

There are G options in FA the question is whether Borgonzi wants to spend significant money there or not.

Van Roten has direct connections to Saleh with the Jets, Daboll with the Giants, Zeigler with the Raiders - but he's even older than Zeitler!

There was a post recently where the top 10 options at each position were listed with comments.  The OG options iirc weren't good.  Vera-Tucker, for example, has been extremely injury prone. Zeitler might actually be one of the better options.
